Get to know the artist behind these beautiful works! From selling her first painting at just 13 years old to co-founding the American Tonalist Society, Mary’s lifelong passion for art and nature is reflected in every brushstroke.

Beyond the canvas, Mary is a dedicated conservationist whose love for wildlife and the natural world continues to inspire her work.

✨ Grace’s Picks of the Week ✨
This week I’m highlighting a few of my favorite pieces by Mary Erickson! Her coastal scenes and wildlife paintings capture so much of what makes the Lowcountry beautiful. Swipe to see my picks 🤍



Golden Surf
This one immediately made my list because I’m such a beach person. I could stare at the ocean forever, and I love artwork that brings a little bit of that feeling inside. Definitely one I’d hang in my own home.

Chickadee Blue
I had to pick this one because there’s something so sweet about it. I love smaller paintings like this that you can tuck into a little corner of your home and somehow they still have so much personality.

Edge of Stillness
This one feels very Charleston to me, which is probably why I was drawn to it. I’ve grown up seeing herons around the marsh and waterways, so paintings like this always feel familiar and nostalgic.

Water Music Study
This one definitely stood out to me. I love how peaceful it feels, and the soft light on the water makes it one I could look at forever. There’s something about Mary’s bird paintings that I’m always drawn to.

Wind lift
I had to add this one because it’s another piece I kept coming back to. I love the way Mary captures birds in their natural environment, and there’s something about this one that feels especially timeless and beautiful.

We’re sharing a few paintings from the gallery whose titles caught our attention and the reasons why we love them! 🎨 Sometimes a title makes you laugh, brings back a memory, or makes you see a painting in a completely different way. Here are a few that stood out to us and why they feel a little extra special.



“Golden Surf” By Mary Erickson
I love this title because it paints an image in my head of being at the beach during golden hour. It has that warm, peaceful coastal feeling of being by the water as the sun is setting.

“Rattle That Lock” by West Fraser
I love this Charleston sidewalk scene, but I’ve never been able to figure out the title. Rattle That Lock always gives us a good laugh because no matter how many times we look at the painting, we still don’t get it!

“Hint of Fall” by Mary Erickson
I chose this painting because I love the tiny pumpkin tucked into the painting. It’s such a cute little detail, and I also think the title is funny because it really does feel like the type of “fall” we get in Charleston. It stays so warm here that sometimes a tiny pumpkin is about the only hint that fall has actually arrived.

“Hunting for Crabs” by Bill Farnsworth
I chose this because it feels really nostalgic to me. When I was a kid, my cousins and I would always go out on the beach at night with our nets and buckets to go ghost crabbing. The painting reminds me of those childhood memories and the excitement of running around the beach together looking for crabs.

Grace’s Gallery Picks of the Week ✨

A few pieces around the gallery that caught my eye this week! This week’s picks feature ceramic works by Sally Allan and handcrafted jewelry by goldsmith Sarah Amos.

Starting with this vase by Sally Allan - the delicate botanical details seem to grow right out of the ceramic. I love how something so simple can have so much character when you look a little closer.

Another favorite from Sally Allan 🤍

The petal-like shapes is what caught my eye on this one. I love how the edges curve outward and give such a simple white bowl an almost floral, sculptural feel.

The perfect mix of both featured artists ✨

Sally Allan’s ceramic pitcher makes such a beautiful backdrop for Sarah Amos’s jewelry. I especially love the pops of colorful stones against the white ceramic and gold - the combination makes all of those little details stand out.

The colors in these earrings immediately caught my eye The warm gold paired with the rich, earthy stones feels so beautiful and unique, and I love how each pair has its own completely different shape and character.
