It’s the last week of May… but there’s still time to join us in our annual May Giving Campaign! 💚

Kaylee Lass, our director of exhibitions is here to tell you all about the campaign and how to get involved. Because of you, the Halsey Institute continues to present bold exhibitions that expand how our community engages with contemporary art in the City of Charleston.

Every exhibition starts long before the gallery opens: with planning, production, materials, and the collaborative effort that brings artists’ ideas to life. 🎨

Our May Giving campaign is still in full swing! Our community engagement extraordinaire, Camela Guevara, is here to tell you all about building the experiences behind every exhibition! ✨

At the Halsey, building an exhibition also means building experiences for our community! Camela’s job is all about creating those experiences through Family Days, artist talks, workshops, film screenings, guided tours, and programs for schools and local groups. These moments help people connect with contemporary art in meaningful ways, and they’re an important part of every exhibition. 🖼️ 🎨✨

70% of the funding we raise goes directly toward creating exhibitions, including all the fun programs and events we host each year. This May, help us reach our $20,000 goal!

May is in full swing… and that means so is our annual May Giving Campaign! Our director and chief curator, Michael Dickins is here to introduce the launch of our new giving program: The Halsey Collective 💚

The Halsey Collective is structured to let you, our supporters, give an amount that feels meaningful to you! ✨

⭐️The Halsey Collective Giving Levels:⭐️
Student – Free
Minimalist - $15-$124
Formalist - $125-$249
Catalyst - $250-$499
Conceptualist - $500-$1499
Avant-Garde - $1500+

Moving beyond a traditional membership model, the Collective reflects a deeper investment in what the Halsey makes possible: a free, public art museum that champions artists, new ideas, and meaningful experiences.

By joining the Collective, you help bring exhibitions to life, support artists and public programs, and sustain the work happening behind the scenes- ensuring the Halsey remains accessible, innovative, and responsive to our community.

Let’s build something meaningful together! To donate, head to the link in our bio. 💚

It’s here! May Giving 2026 just kicked off, and Selynne is here to get us going! 🥳

From the initial idea to the fully realized exhibition, we’re taking a closer look at what it actually takes to build one. 🧐

Because of you, the Halsey Institute continues to present bold exhibitions that expand how our community engages with contemporary art in the City of Charleston.

Every exhibition starts long before the gallery opens: with planning, production, materials, and the collaborative effort that brings artists’ ideas to life.
Throughout May, we’ll be walking through each stage of that process-sharing how an exhibition is built, and the people and resources it takes to bring it to you and the City of Charleston.

Let’s build something meaningful together! To donate, head to the link in our bio today 💚
