On Friday, June 16, 2023, the Chappell Hill Historical Society Museum held its annual Juneteenth program. A local family, who was raised right here in Chappell Hill and grew up as sharecroppers, were our guest speakers for the night. Wow! Not only is this a great group of people, Chappell Hill is blessed to be their home. You might recognize the youngest boy in the family, he is Johnny Holland who is one of the Linebacker coaches for the San Francisco 49ers.

Looking for something to do? We currently have several things going on at the museum.

For the month of May we have a Blacksmith display set up. These items are from a cabin that has been donated to the museum. Stop by and check out the display in our main hallway.

The online exhibit for the month is, " A Day's Work is NEVER Finished." These photos are by Texas amateur photographer, Linda Hopper. She has a unique eye and her photos are amazing to look at. To view this exhibit, go to our website--> chappellhillhistoricalsociety.com and look under the Upcoming Exhibits tab.

On Thursday, May 18th, we will have our first Reading Hour @ the Library. So bring out your kiddos and we are going to listen to our first reader and the book will be, "The Three Libearians." Each kiddo will get a bookmark and coloring pages to take home with them.

The May Membership meeting will be Tuesday, May 23 at 6pm in the Museum Auditorium. Members are asked to bring sides and desserts.

On Friday, June 16th, this years Juneteenth event will be held at the Chappell Hill Museum. The event will begin at 6pm. Come on out and hear the amazing speaker, Dr. Pamela Obiomon.

🍷Halo Gardens Champagne Buffet

This was one of the Dinner sign ups from the Christmas Gala. Guests enjoyed delicious appetizers, wine, and champagne while visiting and admiring the artwork in the grand reception hall during social hour. Next, they toured the beautifully manicured gardens full of gorgeous rose bushes, hedges and a variety of art sculptures. White turkeys, geese, and ducks, were interesting to watch down by the large pond. After strolling through the amazing grounds, a lovely buffet was enjoyed by all. Special thanks to Gold Heart Ranch and Judge John and Cherryl Durrenberger for hosting this lovely evening.
