Tuesday, September 1, join us for our next History Bites lecture, “Collecting and Gathering: The Art of a Collectionist” 🖼️

Led by mixed media and ceramic artist Heidi Dauphin, her artistic identity is rooted in the role of collector and gatherer. Her accumulations shape both the conceptual approach and physical form of her work. From a distance, her work emphasizes strong designs intended to draw the viewer in, while up close it reveals intimate layers of detail, unexpected connections, and stories discovered through careful observation. She will talk about her process as an artist and the work that she is showing at Vision Gallery in The Collectionists from August 22 – November 7.

Recently, we had the pleasure of giving Representative Greg Stanton a tour of our “Being Eddie Basha” exhibit. Highlights included a tour by Museum manager Jody Crago, hearing recordings of Eddie’s voice on the phone, and receiving a piece of Arizona political history through a “Basha for Governor” campaign button. Thank you to Rep. Stanton and his team for stopping by!

“Being Eddie Basha” explores the life of the grocer and his family, from late 19th-century Lebanon to 21st-century Arizona. For information on our current and future exhibits, please visit our website at the link in our bio.

Surprise, we are going to be hosting the Office of Collecting and Design from Oct. 7 - 11, 2026!

The Office of Collecting & Design is a traveling museum devoted to the diminutive, the misplaced, the unusual, and the forgotten. The space is an elaborate love letter of leftover fragments from our collective memories; meticulously organized and displayed for maximum satisfaction and delight. Immerse yourself in a world where you can open every drawer, explore every box, and discover to your heart’s content. Visitors are able to participate in a Flatlay Experience, Scavenger Hunt, or just come in to enjoy the space.

Additionally, we will be hosting free events in the museum:
Friday Oct. 9: Art Talk/Short Film Screening
Saturday, Oct. 10: Flat Lay Workshops

Tickets for Scavenger Hunts, Flatlay Experiences and more will be sold next week through our email newsletter. Sign up using the link in our bio!

Join us at the Chandler Museum for Film Friday: "War of the Worlds” with extraterrestrial treats provided by Spooky's Swirls! 👽

A mysterious, meteorlike object has landed in a small California town. All clocks have stopped. A fleet of glowing green UFOs hovers menacingly over the entire globe. The Martian invasion of Earth has begun, and it seems that nothing—neither military might nor the scientific know-how of nuclear physicist Dr. Clayton Forrester (Gene Barry)—can stop it. In the expert hands of genre specialists George Pal and Byron Haskin, H. G. Wells’s end-of-civilization classic receives a chilling Cold War–era update, complete with hallucinatory Technicolor and 1950s state-of-the-art, Oscar-winning special effects. Film discussion featuring, Ed Finn, the founding director of the Center for Science and the Imagination and associate professor in the School for the Future of Innovation in Society at Arizona State University.
