North Custer Museum

Thank you to everyone who visited the North Custer Museum this season! We are now closed for the winter. We look forward to reopening on Memorial Day weekend 2027. Stay tuned to our Page for updates. We have a new display to check out next year. It is the handcrafted work of Eleanor Baxter, a resident of Challis from 1893 to 1974. Photo also shows her husband Everett Baxter 1889 to 1962.

Another recent donation: A Pelouze balance scale manufactured in the 1950s. They were often used in a dark room or lab to measure chemicals. This one came from The Challis Messenger office, so it was likely used in a dark room.

New donation: These moccasins were made by Steve Cutler's mother, Gerry, from Fort Hall in the 1970s. They were donated by Gina Duke.

We are shifting into our fall schedule this week. Open Saturday and Sunday from 10 to 4. We are hoping to stay open through September. Attendance and weather will determine the actual closing date. We’ll keep you posted as the season progresses and look forward to seeing you before winter.
