We wholeheartedly support this tribute to Richard Udd, and acknowledge his many years of service to both the Historical Society and Pioneer Town serving not only as its president, but in many other capacities as well. A truly remarkable, well respected and loved man. We miss him.
Ribbon Cutting at Richard Udd Park 🌳✂️
The Rotary Club of Cedaredge was honored to join the Udd and Locke families and the Town of Cedaredge for the ribbon-cutting ceremony of Richard Udd Park. 🎉
For several years, our club has proudly cared for this town-owned roadside park, welcoming travelers on their way to and from Grand Mesa. 🚗🏔️ Through seasonal cleanups, planting flowers 🌷, repainting picnic tables and pavilions 🎨, and adding permanent benches 🪑, Rotary members have worked to keep this special place beautiful and inviting for residents and visitors alike.
Following Richard Udd’s passing in June 2025, Rotary proposed naming this previously unnamed park in his honor. We are grateful to the Town of Cedaredge for embracing this idea and helping create a lasting tribute to a man whose commitment to our community was extraordinary. ❤️
Richard served Cedaredge as Trustee, Mayor, and President and Treasurer of the Rotary Club of Cedaredge Foundation. His leadership, humility, and dedication to service left a lasting impact on our town. ⭐
This park now stands as a reminder of Richard’s legacy and the Rotary motto he lived so well: Service Above Self. 💙💛
We look forward to continuing our partnership with the Town of Cedaredge as we care for the Surface Creek Valley 🌄 and honor those who have helped make our community such a special place.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for this meaningful celebration. 🙏
