A Sweet Send-Off: Celebrating another great Hands-On History season with homemade ice cream sundaes

To close out another successful season of interactive learning, the community is invited to our final Hands-On History Day of 2026 featuring a build-your-own ice cream sundae celebration. Visitors can top off scoops of the museum’s homemade French vanilla ice cream with a delicious variety of sweet toppings.

Admission to this program is free with donations greatly appreciated!

Meet our Artisan Market Artists!

Lansing Wagner, Ceramics

I made pots for ~ 30 years at the Harvard Ceramics Studio. Usually 6 hours a week in their amazing facility. I have done some scientific illustration and enjoy designing pots with creatures on them. Big bowls are my favorite, they are useful and provide a large canvas to draw on. I've retired and am continuing work in my home studio in East Blue Hill.

We have an exciting last-minute addition to the 2026 Artisan Market! Kathy Pollard makes fine art baskets from sustainably gathered birchbark, sweet grass, milkweed bark, cedar bark, and other materials. She also creates sculpture and jewelry that incorporates fragments of antique glass and pottery gathered from local beaches and river banks. Kathy Pollard

Robyn Lorio, Robyn Rae Leather

Robyn Rae Leather offers a variety of hand-crafted leather goods including tote bags, purses, wallets and more. Each piece is designed with a simple, elegant style and is made for function and durability. Inspired to work with leather after taking a shoemaking class in Chicago, Robyn has been honing her craft since 2018. All products are cut and stitched by hand, without the use of machines, in Blue Hill, Maine.
