Here's another fun way to celebrate the centennial: don't miss Riveting History: 100 Years of the Bridge of the Gods on exhibit in the Oregon State Capitol Gateway from September 3 - October 1. We appreciate the opportunity to represent Cascade Locks history at the state capitol.

Women at the window! We are working on an exhibit supplement for "Riveting History: 100 Years of the Bridge of the Gods" about the contributions of women in the workforce at the tollbooth. I would love to include iconic photos from each decade and anecdotes to go with them.

📸 Drop digital photos in the comments to be included in the online exhibit.
🖼 Email high resolution scans to [email protected], or stop by the museum during business hours with a hard copy for us to scan, to be added to the print version. Submit your photos by 8/30, and they can be included in the traveling exhibit to the Oregon State Capitol!
✅ I have the Port's bridge roster through 2005. Out of respect for the privacy for people who are potentially still working, I am making the last 20 years opt-in. If you worked at the bridge between 2006-2026 and it's not "too soon" to be a museum exhibit (🦖), send us your years of employment to be included.

Calling volunteers who aren't afraid of a dirty job! Help us clean up the outdoor exhibit space on Saturday, August 8, from 10am-1pm.

We need help with:
🍂 Leaf and litter removal
💪 Taking down objects mounted on walls and ceiling beams
📋 Organizing them so we can plan for better preservation and display

We are also seeking additional community knowledge from people who remember where some of these objects came from. If you were here in the '70s when the outdoor exhibit shed was built, or you have heard a story about one of these pieces, please share them with us! Stories add value to our historic collection, helping us make better exhibits by adding context to the objects, and they help us prioritize preservation for the items that matter most to Cascade Locks history.

ONE WEEK until the PONY PARTY! Join us at the museum on Saturday, July 25, from 10am-2pm for the most fun day of museum season. This event is FREE for Cascade Locks residents and museum members, and $5 for anyone else over the age of 5.

The Pony Party is the day of the year that we open up the Oregon Pony building and let folks get up close to the first locomotive built on the entire west coast. In addition to our super-cool museum,, the Pony Party also includes an actual pony and his petting zoo of furry friends, an inflatable water slide, crafts, games, and more fun.

Only two weeks to go until our 5th annual PONY PARTY! Mark your calendars for July 25 from 10am-2pm for the most fun day of museum summer! What happens when the Oregon Pony Locomotive meets an ACTUAL REAL LIVE pony? You have to be here to find out!

Admission is $5 for ages 6 and up, and FREE for museum members and Cascade Locks residents. Tickets may be purchased in advance or at the gate. Entry to the event includes the inflatable water slide, games, crafts, photo ops, and museum admission. Concessions, souvenirs, and prize drawing tickets will be available for purchase.
