What an incredible summer of creating together! 🥹 Thank you to every student and family who trusted Divine Art Institute to be part of your summer. Watching these young artists grow in both confidence and creativity has been such a joy.

🎨 Our Friday Fall Workshops begin in August, right back in our familiar studio space at Round Trip Bike Shop in Casa Grande! We’ll be exploring new mediums, building new skills, and creating artwork students will be proud of—including optional opportunities to exhibit at the Arizona State Fair. Our first session is 6 wks long and starts in just a less than a month!

Join us for a 6-week Friday workshop series inspired by the 2026 Arizona State Fair Theme, where students will create 3 incredible mixed-media masterpieces while learning new artistic skills and techniques.

🎨 And that’s a wrap on our Summer Art Workshops! 🎨

Six weeks.
Countless techniques.
So much creativity, growth, and confidence built. ❤️

When we started this summer, many students were picking up certain materials and learning new art techniques for the very first time… and look where they ended. 🤯

This week students learned how to build a piece from the ground up — studying composition, proportion, value, contrast, implied texture, and expressive mark-making.

Each artist started with the same techniques, but their finished pieces became completely their own. 🖤

Charcoal, water soluble graphite, acrylic, metallic accents, and a little creative courage brought these animals to life.

And that’s what happens when young artists stop copying steps and start thinking like artists? ✨

I am SO proud of every artist who joined us this summer. Thank you to all the families who trusted me with your students and helped make our biggest summer yet such a success! 🥹

✨ Don’t forget — artwork created during our Summer Workshops may be eligible to enter in this year’s County & Arizona State Fair! I cannot wait to see some of these pieces displayed beyond the classroom.

🎨 Interested in continuing your student’s art journey? Private lessons + small group classes will resume for the Fall semester. Wow - Time flies 🪽when you’re having fun is right?! What a FANTASTIC last 2 weeks of workshops we have had!

We’ve been so busy, we forgot to post updates on all that we’ve created 🤣🎨 Here’s some photos from our Pop & Color workshop last week AND this week’s Texture Studio…

Our final week of Summer Workshops “Shine & Define” is around the corner starting Monday, July 6th! We have limited spacing left for this class, so please reach out if you’d like to check availability and register your student!

🦋 Week 3 Starts Tomorrow!

Creative Remix is about finding your own style and voice as an artist and learning what you LOVE to create with! We’re going to make big art with all sorts of materials!

The beautiful thing is, you don’t have to have come to week 1 or 2 to join in on this week or any of the future workshops- each week stands alone! Last minute registrations are welcome - for tomorrow’s 11AM or 1PM sessions… (9-10:30 is FULL!)

🎨Week 2: Water & Flow - Day 1 Complete! 💧

Today our artists stepped into the world of fluid painting and discovered that watercolor is as much about Letting Go as it is about Control.

Students explored a variety of flow-based mediums, tested how different materials react with water, and created their own technique reference sheets before beginning a layered landscape inspired by mountains, forests, and reflective waters.

Along the way they experimented with:
✨ Watercolor inks
✨ Bleeding tissue paper
✨ Pigment powders
✨ Water-soluble media
✨ Wet-on-wet and layered painting techniques

One of the most valuable lessons of the day was learning that watercolor doesn’t always do exactly what you expect—and that’s part of its beauty. Students learned to observe, adapt, and use the natural movement of water to create expressive effects that simply can’t be achieved with other mediums.

The classroom was FULL of experimentation, discovery, and creative problem-solving as each artist developed their own unique interpretation of the landscape.

And this is only Day 1. ❤️

Tomorrow we’ll continue building these skills and we will explore new subjects, new layering techniques, and even more ways to make color flow across the page.
