UWG Bobick Art Gallery

UWG Bobick Art Gallery The Atrium Gallery features a permanent exhibition of the only full-scale replica of the Bayeux Tapestry in North America.

The Department of Art’s Gallery Program mission is to act as a conduit for educational excellence and is dedicated to the promotion and understanding of art and to provide a forum to promote intellectual inquiry that generates curiosity by provoking public debate on the cultural and social issues of our times. The Bobick Gallery located on the first floor of the Humanities building is the main exh

ibition space and features monthly exhibitions from local, national, and international professional artists. Gallery 2 serves as the primary gallery for students and is dedicated to the experimentation and development of student artists as they progress toward their professional careers. The 30-foot-long embroidered cloth depicts the events leading up to the 1066 Norman invasion of England, along with the invasion itself. Located throughout the campus grounds, the Sculpture on Campus Program includes rotating exhibitions of sculpture from some of the most exciting artists working today. The Department of Art Gallery Program, within the framework established by the University of West Georgia, is dedicated to serve as the main exhibition spaces for the department, university and community of West Georgia at large. All events are free and open to the public.
