Time flies when you’re having fun.

Today, our youngest artist started first grade.

Toby was so brave, and I felt pretty lucky that he invited me to be part of the morning and share in the memories.

Toby was my very first friend at the gallery, and somehow our friendship just keeps getting stronger. He doesn’t see age. He doesn’t care that there are decades between us. He just sees friendship. The real, unconditional kind.

I think that’s one of the things I love most about kids. They don’t complicate connection the way adults sometimes do. They just know who their people are.

Congratulations, Toby. First grade is a pretty big deal.

We are so proud of you. ❤️

Today at the Studio felt like exactly what this space is meant to be.

As if starting the day with yoga wasn’t enough, we moved into a beautiful collaborative art workshop where everyone added something to one shared piece.

At the end, we cut it apart and each person took a piece home — a little reminder that what we create together becomes part of each of us.

Some people in the room create every day. Others told us they haven’t slowed down long enough to make something in years.

It didn’t matter.

There was no right way to do it, no experience required, and no need to be “an artist.”

Everyone belonged at the table.

And everyone belongs here at the Studio. Always.

Today’s Maker Meetup was a little messy and a lot of fun.

We painted, got double-sided tape stuck all over our hands, laughed, and talked about the rules of art—what we like about them, what we don’t, and when they help or get in the way.

We shared some amazing work, hugged, and ended with, “See you next month.”

This is what making together looks like.

Every painting starts long before the first brush touches the canvas.

Today was Part 1 of our four-part Oil Painting Series with Annie Bobbitt.

Instead of jumping straight into paint, participants spent the afternoon sketching, planning their compositions, and learning how to build a strong foundation. It was a reminder that some of the most important work happens before the color ever goes on.

We can’t wait to watch these sketches evolve into finished paintings over the next few months.

The Men’s Shed is hard at work making mini picture frames for the gallery, and here’s a little sneak peek!

We even have Rev. Doran overseeing the operation. 😊

I can’t wait to see the finished product. There is something so special about watching people share their time, talents, and creativity to make something for others.

These men are everything good in the world. ❤️
