Big day today! Five years ago I converted the sunroom in our home to a paint studio where I could do my design work and paint smaller projects like helmets and motorcycle tanks but I was still painting cars and trucks in the shop at Twisted Pistons Garage . Well..today a huge goal was finally realized.. Yager Did It has it’s own shop! And already have the first ride in today to get some paint slung on it. Stay tuned, lots of really cool projects on deck!

Today I Did some factory style pinstripes in a custom chocolate brown(they would have been chamois tan) to separate the rare Victorian option paint in Sunset Copper and Desert Tan on this sweet ‘84 F250. Painted the tailgate letters in the same brown instead of the white they would have been from the factory..Just a killer truck!

I was given this WWII practice bomb over a decade ago. It’s been sitting in the shop in grey primer just waiting for me to do something with it..a few months ago my brilliant wife said “well it’s pretty obvious what you should do with it”…well..I finally got around to it..did some spun gold leaf and some stripes on the new mailbox too.

For the last year and a half we have been searching for a COOL vintage, neon, hair product/beauty related clock for Stormi’s new salon but just couldn’t find anything at all…So……I bought a purple Plymouth Roadrunner neon clock from Amazon, disassembled it, sat down and drew up a logo for a “hair tonic” that I thought would be the perfect fit for the place..took an old, cheap Sinclair Gas round sign I had laying around, sanded off the Dino, painted it vintage cream, then painted the new logo on it. Installed it in the new clock…and.. Presto!! A COOL neon salon clock..

Over the last 30 years I thought I had pretty much lettered just about anything that you could put lettering on…well today was one I didn’t expect..I was asked to letter a bible verse on a 4 foot tall Hobby Lobby painting of Jesus walking through a valley.

My buddy brought me his mailbox to paint and said I don’t care what you do as long as it’s bright green and purple. I’ve been in a bit of a rut lately doing nothing but straight lines and traditional hot rod lettering and striping so I went a totally different direction and threw it back to some 90’s Mini-truck style lettering and lines….it was fun..

This all original 1928 Ford Model A touring sedan belongs to 86 year old William Buehler. William’s grandfather Hank bought it brand new 98 years ago in Pasadena California. Sometime in the early 50’s William helped his grandfather repaint the green on the car using an Electro-Lux Vacuum Cleaner paint spraying attachment. I’ve attached a photo of the attachment. After they were done with their paint job Hank hired a local sign painter to paint a small advertisement for his used car lot on the doors. William took ownership of the car in 1983 and the very first thing he did was remove the lettering from the doors. A decision he said he has regretted since the moment he did it. Luckily the original lettering had ghosted themselves just enough that I could fully recreate and age them to look just like they would have the day he removed them 43 years ago. I love bringing history back.
