Over the last 30 years I thought I had pretty much lettered just about anything that you could put lettering on…well today was one I didn’t expect..I was asked to letter a bible verse on a 4 foot tall Hobby Lobby painting of Jesus walking through a valley.

My buddy brought me his mailbox to paint and said I don’t care what you do as long as it’s bright green and purple. I’ve been in a bit of a rut lately doing nothing but straight lines and traditional hot rod lettering and striping so I went a totally different direction and threw it back to some 90’s Mini-truck style lettering and lines….it was fun..

Painted the POW MIA flag on a ‘72 Chevy hood today. This is going on a charity-raffle truck that will be up for grabs in the Waco area soon.

This all original 1928 Ford Model A touring sedan belongs to 86 year old William Buehler. William’s grandfather Hank bought it brand new 98 years ago in Pasadena California. Sometime in the early 50’s William helped his grandfather repaint the green on the car using an Electro-Lux Vacuum Cleaner paint spraying attachment. I’ve attached a photo of the attachment. After they were done with their paint job Hank hired a local sign painter to paint a small advertisement for his used car lot on the doors. William took ownership of the car in 1983 and the very first thing he did was remove the lettering from the doors. A decision he said he has regretted since the moment he did it. Luckily the original lettering had ghosted themselves just enough that I could fully recreate and age them to look just like they would have the day he removed them 43 years ago. I love bringing history back.
