Included in the Jefferson College Literary Societies' holdings we have in our library are this copy of Homer's Iliad published in 1750 (before the Revolutionary War) and inscribed by its owner Johannes Rea in 1796 (before the Louisiana Purchase).

John Rea was the first honorary degree conferred by Jefferson College in 1802, along with their inaugural graduating class of four students (Reed Bracken, Johnston Eaton, William McMillan, and Israel Pickens).

Should you like to read more about Rev. John Rea follow this up with an obituary written in his local Ohio newspaper at: https://www.newspapers.com/clip/121589133/rearevjohnobituaryjeffcoll1802/

Churches in the area would periodically swap choirs in the name of brotherhood. This undated picture of "The Brotherhood" could use some additional information. If you can identify members of the choir, the approximate date of the photo, and the story behind this iteration of the brotherhood would be greatly appreciated.

With a new school year underway we encourage our young learners to make the best of this opportunity as so many us look back on our "good old days".

In 1962 the Chamber of Commerce was involved in several community improvement projects including one that focused on adult recreation. That particular project aimed at revitalizing the Curry Field grounds.

This 1971 Elmanac supplement is the second yearbook supplement we have digitized (1965 being the other). Does anyone have other supplements that were published after the yearbook went to press? This copy includes Spring/Summer sports and late calendar events from the 1970-1971 school year at CMHS, just 55 short years ago.

Some of our most recent additions help us to remember the CHS class of 1952. Not only as they were in their year of graduation but as they grew through the years with the reunion photos. Included here is just a sample of the cache of mementos for this class with many well-known names among the alumni.
