Morganza Roundtable: Date to be finalized in July (projecting July 17) .
While we have photos and maps of Morganza that doesn't tell the full story of the famed and feared institution. With membership and followers full of experiences as well as history on the property we want to open a space for them to share their memories and knowledge. So if you worked, or played, on the property and would be interested in offering your expertise please let us know.

How many remember this fun artifact? A beautiful copy was recently added to the JCHS collection? Published in 1984 this Trivia Game was sponsored by the Canon-McMillan High School.
There is lots to explore here: Advertisers, Supporters, and even trivia questions covering local and national history (just a few sheets of cards shown as samples).

Today we'll throwback to 1981 and a Jefferson College Historical Society picnic thrown by the Dr. James Herron Sr. and his wife Betty on August 15. This collection includes members enjoying the food, fresh air, and each other's company. Hopefully you'll find some familiar faces in this group of snapshots.

It's always a great privilege to be granted custodianship of relics of the past so that they can be preserved and shared with the greater community. Here are eight photos that were donated during out open house yesterday, commemorating some of the memories from the class of 1947 (mostly).
We are so thankful when people decide us worthy to care for the treasures of their loved ones., for the benefit of all. We hope you all will find a loved one in this collection.

How about North Strabane School No. 6 for day 6? The Anthou Legal building as you drive by it nowadays at 165 McClelland Road is dramatically improved over the state that is captured in the later pics of this school built in 1896. The first captures the bell tower still in place and the second with it collapsed through the roof. The building has since been revitalized. We were told that you could ice skate inside at one time, though that was not by design.

We had a request for older pics of the the building currently housing Scarmazzi Homes, also the Foodland at the corner of Adams and College where the Dollar General now operates.

Don't know if we'll get to Twelve Days of Content but Day Five is Five Golden Rings. It is interesting to see the changes through the years. If you have a class ring from the local schools please share a pic and show your class pride.
