Plan to arrive at 2:30pm tomorrow to set up your picnic and settle in, as the Finger Lakes Choral Festival will perform from 3-3:30pm and the patriotic picnic judging will take place after the concert. The weather forecast looks beautiful! ☀️🎶🇺🇸

Join us for "Freedom's Heart and Home" on July 19th at 3pm on the beautiful front lawn of the Granger Homestead in Canandaigua. The Finger Lakes Choral Festival will sing selections from "New Land, New Covenant," inspiring and uplifting music by world renowned composer, Howard Hanson, of Eastman School of Music fame. "New Land, New Covenant" was composed in 1976 to celebrate the nation's Bicentennial. Hear it now in its 50th anniversary season! Accompanied by Ines Draskovic, the chorus will also perform celebratory patriotic anthems for the occasion.

Pack a picnic and enter the patriotic picnic contest with prizes provided by Fort Hill Performing Arts Center and the Granger Homestead. Let's turn the lawn red, white, and blue! W**e and b**r will be available for purchase - please limit your carry-in picnic to food and non-alcoholic beverages.

🇺🇸Due to registration for the 3pm talk being full, and the overwhelming interest in this talk, Emilie has kindly agreed to host the talk at 1pm as well! Register for the 1pm talk on our website!

You are invited to join us June 7th at 1pm for "Hold my mail - please! Monticello, Thomas Jefferson, and Gideon Granger."

Thomas Jefferson and Gideon Granger were political allies before falling out in 1814. Jefferson relied on Granger as "a well-informed friend" who provided important political information during Jefferson's presidency and who also offered practical assistance, like holding his mail when Jefferson traveled between Monticello and Washington, D. C. Please join Emilie Johnson, Curator of Arts and History at the Thomas Jefferson Foundation at Monticello, for a program that highlights new installations at Monticello on the Declaration of Independence and in the historic house, establishing a background to explore Jefferson's relationship with his well-informed friend.

Please visit our website to register for this free community program.
