🇺🇸 REMEMBER THE LADIES: BACKCOUNTRY EDITION 🇺🇸

Join the Hobkirk Hill Chapter, NSDAR, and the Elizabeth Hutchinson Jackson, NSDAR, for a special morning celebrating the real women, real stories, and lasting legacy of the women of the American Revolution.

Too often, the story of the Revolution is told through the battles and the men who fought them. But behind the armies, on the plantations and farms, in homes and communities, women endured hardship, supported the cause, supplied armies, protected families, and made sacrifices that helped shape the new nation.

Remember the Ladies: Backcountry Edition will bring several of these remarkable women and their stories to life through featured presentations:

🌿 Bettise Davidson — The Widow Jenkins
🌿 Paul Wood — Dicey Langston
🌿 Aliene Humphries — What Women Wore
🌿 Robert Ryals, Liz Canada & Hayden Medley — The Relentless Sarah McCalla
🌿 Michael Covington — “Johnny Has Gone for a Soldier” — an old Irish song telling the story of a wife and the duties and sacrifices she carried at home
🌿 Laura Ledford — Elizabeth Hutchinson Jackson

📅 Saturday, November 21, 2026
⏰ 10:00 AM–12:00 PM
📍 Liberty Hall — Revolutionary War Visitor Center

Come hear the stories of women whose courage, resilience, work, and sacrifice were an essential part of the American Revolution—particularly here in the South Carolina Backcountry.

🇺🇸 Remember the ladies. Remember their stories. Remember their legacy. 🇺🇸

Presented by the Hobkirk Hill Chapter, NSDAR and Elizabeth Hutchinson Jackson Chapter, NSDAR, in partnership with Historic Camden Foundation, Olde English District Tourism Commission, and the Simply Revolutionary War Visitor Center, as part of KC 250th celebration of America’s 250th Anniversary.
