Ohio Open Doors-Downtown Cambridge
Join us for an unforgettable Cambridge History Open Door Day! Dive into the past with exciting free tours and activities in downtown Cambridge. Here’s what’s in store:
**Lucky Shot Pool Hall 824 1/2 Wheeling Avenue
Open all day for some fun and games! You can play a few games and hear some history while you're at it.
**Scottish Rite Auditorium 941 Wheeling Ave
10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Get a rare backstage tour of this historic venue! It was originally built in the 1930's and has remained a beautiful asset to our community for nearly 100 years.
**National Museum of Cambridge Glass 136 S 9th St
10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Enjoy free entry and discover the history of glassmaking. Your host, Cindy Arent, will
provide you with a wealth of knowledge, possibly including some movie history
featuring Cambridge Glass.
**Guernsey County Historical Museum 218 N 8th St
10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Extended hours to delve into local history. Spend some time with our local historians
who will amaze you with their knowledge and stories of our local history.
**Historic Underground Area 653 Wheeling Ave
10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. & 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Explore the hidden history of Cambridge! See the original store front built below street level and walk on the original sidewalk. This space is only open limited times throughout the year.
**Guernsey County District Public Library / Carnegie Library 800 Steubenville Ave
3:00-5:00 p.m.
Explore the stunning Carnegie Library! Tour all four floors, uncover the library’s
fascinating history from its 1903 construction, and marvel at unique relics in the Finley Room.
**Cambridge Performing Arts Center 642 Wheeling Ave
12:00-6:00 p.m.
Learn about the history of this local theater that was originally built in 1907 and named The Strand. Take a tour to see how unique it really is.
Don’t miss out on this incredible journey through time!

We will promote tourism in our area, educate and engage our community with the value of local tourism, create and promote experiences for visitors to feel relaxed, welcomed and delighted and support the ongoing development of our tourism industry.

The Daily Jeffersonian printed a Sunday Extra (pictured here) reporting on the attack at Pearl Harbor naval base by Japanese military. This air attack was the catalyst for the U.S. to join the Allies in World War II.
