Light bends time in the studio — resin catching color, color catching memory. Wylie Gelber’s light box plinth becomes a slow experiment in how materials remember what the sun once said. A study in translucence and duration, it explores how color and light shift with the passing hours, each layer holding a trace of time.

Playing with light and color through time, the work turns the studio into a living prism — something that changes as the day does. Light, color, time — all fair game in the studio. The resin plinth catches it all and gives it back differently every day, a quiet reminder that nothing stays still, not even the light that shapes what we see.

Visitors are invited to come play — to lift, stack, and restack these small captured moments of light, creating infinite combinations of color and transparency. Each rearrangement becomes a new version of the day, a new way of seeing time made visible.

A moment of acknowledgment for everyone’s local favorite… a business that’s been closing since it opened… right in the heart of town next to the least expensive gas station… the magical JOY BOOK SALES. There’s no substitute for a room full of old books to awake one’s imagination. But we’ll keep trying anyways.

Since the dawn of time, chess has measured our urge to outthink, out-move, and out-imagine. Bring a friend—or a friendly rival—and play a round right here on Wylie Gelber’s table and chairs.

(We’ve included some other examples of strategy games with consequences in popular film and fiction for context and your viewing pleasure)

When many galleries are choosing a private model… we shall push further and further into the public space the only way we know how. Gallery car, billboard.. and now.. this dreaded street sign that we will lovingly be dragging out to the sidewalk every day with some kind of infotainment in word form for the passersby’s with eyeballs that can read English. It’s a wide demographic but we are here to serve…. THE ARTS!
