Keeneland and Churchill Downs racetracks each honored Thorpedo Anna this weekend during special retirement celebrations for the reigning 2024 Horse of the Year. As part of the festivities, fans in attendance received prints of this beautiful painting by renowned contemporary impressionist painter Lisa Palombo.

We are pleased to make available a limited number of prints autographed by Thorpedo Anna's popular regular rider, Brian Hernandez, along with a small quantity of autographed Thorpedo Anna mini-print trading cards that were produced as part of the artist’s “Famous Fillies” folio (and joining our previous Ruffian Trading Card offering).

Thorpedo Anna officially retired today from racing. She is headed to picturesque Hill n Dale Farms for her next remarkable chapter. How I loved painting Thorpedo Anna and getting to know her team. She’ll always be one of my “Famous Fillies” and the only one of seven I got to see race. Thank you T.A. for the unforgettable memories! 💕👑

Her Story

Lisa Palombo is a renowned Contemporary American Impressionist known for her expressive brushwork and fearless use of color. She is considered a master of color and the natural form. Her work has been featured on more than 40 book covers, including several New York Times bestsellers as well as showcased in Art & Antiques Magazine, Southern Living, The Artist’s Magazine, American Art Review and a Columbia Pictures movie, The Bounty Hunter. Palombo is listed in the National Museum of Women in the Arts, Washington, D.C., and the Marquis Who's Who in American Art. Her paintings are featured in the books The Best of Oil Painting, Exploring Color, The Best of American Oil Artists (Vol. II) and Lisa Palombo: American Impressionist. Her work can also be found in select galleries, her own studio gallery and in private and corporate collections throughout the U.S.
