summer is just around the corner and things are heating up down here on West Main!

Classes are filled, production is in full swing, and preparations are underway for next week’s Toe River Arts June Studio Tour!!

Come by tomorrow on your way to the Yancey County Farmers Market, snag a smoothie from our new Superfood Smoothie truck and watch our incredible glass artists work!

HOT SHOP ONLY TOMORROW— Our gallery will be closed tomorrow, Thursday, May 14th!
You can still stop by and watch us work in the hot shop but our gallery will be closed.

Our gallery team is off to the beach for the Boss’s bachelorette, and the rest of our hot shop team needs to blow glass!! The gallery will reopen Friday and Saturday for regular hours with Cricket and Yoshi on duty! 🫡

Let’s talk about APRIL…because boyyy did it sure fly by!!! We’ve hardly had time to post because we’ve been busy— From working with Yancey County Chamber of Commerce to create the 2026 Leadership Awards and then celebrating Birdfoot for receiving the 2026 Emerging Business award at the Annual Chamber Gala, April started off with a bang!

With the first of the spring flowers, our beautiful tulips from Sun Seeker Flowers, came the first Yancey County Farmers Market of the season and our spring Gather Art Market!

Next came our our 4th Annual Mostly Local Block Party!! with our friends at Birdfoot, Blue Cardinal Catering & Food Truck, Carolina Empanada Co. & Hellbender Woodfire Oven! Now, with a fresh blacktop to repair our parking lot we are ready for the remainder of spring and are looking forward to summer!

Although we are busy, small businesses like ours still rely on local support to keep going. Come by in May and join us for a glassblowing class, stop by and watch us work or snag a gift from our gallery—we would be thrilled to see you.

Our parking lot will be closed for the remainder of the week and tomorrow morning during the Yancey County Farmers Market - due to the fresh blacktop. We apologize for the inconvenience, but in order to set it needs to cure just a litttlllleee longer.

During this time, parking is available across the street, while the front of our shop will be reserved for our customers only!

Gather is back this Saturday ✨

A bimonthly pop-up celebrating the next generation of WNC’s arts & crafts— we’ll have pottery, jewelry, beeswax candles, prints, tea, hand-forged knives, perfumes, and more.

Come spend some time alongside a really special group of makers!

Burnsville is Open for Business
Supporting local downtown businesses during major construction is vital to maintain the character and economic health of our community. While detours and roadwork can make a trip to your favorite shop or restaurant more time-consuming, small businesses are often hit hardest by the drop in foot traffic. Choosing to navigate the orange cones and temporarily textured pathways ensures that our downtown businesses can survive the disruption and thrive once the infrastructure improvements are complete. Your patronage is so important as it helps recirculate dollars back into the local economy.

Prepping for a full Easter weekend! Stop by the gallery this weekend and check out our *new* glass Easter eggs made by Rob, Stacking Stones Studio’s strawberries and our beautiful hand blown vases just in time for all of the spring blooms popping up! (We are loving these tulips from Sun Seeker Flowers!)

Please be aware that they are continuing the construction along Main Street and it may be more difficult than usual to get to the shop. 😵‍💫
