Billy the Buffalo is making the most of his summer before heading back to school on August 24! Last week, he was spotted in the Cochran Gallery playing a game of checkers with a dog nutcracker. Billy isn't sure who is winning, but he says his new friend is a tough opponent! Billy's time to explore the museum is running short. Can you find where he's hiding this week?

Last week, we asked if you knew where this sound could be found in the museum… and the answer is the Prairie Chicken on the “P” block in the K Is for Kansas traveling exhibit!

Come explore the exhibit and discover even more fun and interactive things you can do with the other letter blocks! You might be surprised by what you find. August 21st is the last day for this exhibit.

Looking for a way to escape the rainy weather? Spend some time at the museum exploring the interactive 'K is for Kansas' traveling exhibit!

Each letter block highlights something unique about Kansas. On the "A" block, you'll find a photo of Waverly's Olive Ann Beech and her husband....but what do they have to do with the letter "A"? You'll have to visit to find out!

Kids will love the hands-on activities throughout the exhibit, including a train to play with, columbines to discover, wooden basketball game to play, rabbit fur to touch, and so much more! It is a fun and educational adventure for all ages!!!

Billy the Buffalo has been on the move again at the museum. Last week, several young visitors spotted him hiding in the telephone display, where he was pretending to be a switchboard operator. Did you know that the switchboard on display came from LeRoy, Kansas, and was once an important part of connecting local telephone calls? Keep on the lookout during your next visit to the museum to see what Billy is up to this week.
