Join us for art, events, and a welcoming community! Located in the heart of the beautiful historic downtown Burlington, Iowa, the Art Center showcases the works of local, and regional artists with monthly exhibits in the Gallery and one-of-a-kind artwork in the Artists Market. Children, teen, and adult art classes and workshops are offered along with special events throughout the year. The Gallery
Lounge offers the finest selection of wine, beer, & charcuterie boards in a creative atmosphere on the 1st and 3rd Friday of every month. The Art Center of Burlington is funded by memberships, as well as grants from Iowa Arts Council, John H. Witte Foundation, Virginia Murray Foundation, memorials, corporate sponsorships, private donations, and special fundraising events like the Snake Alley Art Fair and Battle of the Brushes. The Art Center of Burlington was founded in 1966 by a group of artists and friends with the first show at the Unitarian Church and eventually moving to its first home downstairs at the North Hill Medical Center. The very next year in 1967, the organization started the Father's Day tradition of Snake Alley Art Fair. Artists lined the alley with snow fence to hang their artwork for sale.
