Art Center of Burlington ACB is a creative space in Southeast Iowa where imagination thrives. We inspire creativity, encourage playfulness, and foster personal growth for all ages.

Join us for art, events, and a welcoming community! Located in the heart of the beautiful historic downtown Burlington, Iowa, the Art Center showcases the works of local, and regional artists with monthly exhibits in the Gallery and one-of-a-kind artwork in the Artists Market. Children, teen, and adult art classes and workshops are offered along with special events throughout the year. The Gallery Lounge offers the finest selection of wine, beer, & charcuterie boards in a creative atmosphere on the 1st and 3rd Friday of every month. The Art Center of Burlington is funded by memberships, as well as grants from Iowa Arts Council, John H. Witte Foundation, Virginia Murray Foundation, memorials, corporate sponsorships, private donations, and special fundraising events like the Snake Alley Art Fair and Battle of the Brushes. The Art Center of Burlington was founded in 1966 by a group of artists and friends with the first show at the Unitarian Church and eventually moving to its first home downstairs at the North Hill Medical Center. The very next year in 1967, the organization started the Father's Day tradition of Snake Alley Art Fair. Artists lined the alley with snow fence to hang their artwork for sale.

Jazz in Burlington 2026 leads off with a performance at the Art Center, known for its iconic Jazz Nights.

Here are all the great reasons you don't want to miss it:

1 - The theme for the night is Duke Ellington. Come learn about his life and listen to his music. As is tradition, each carefully curated selection is contextualized with spoken words to illuminate the life of one of our country's greatest composers.

2 - We will be featuring many of your favorite local jazz musicians such as Ed Mansheim, Hailey Poe (formerly Ramatowski), Eric Pettit, Little Georgie Pappas, and Daniel Pappas.

We have many special guests. If you are an Art Center Jazz Night regular, then you know it has been too long since our friends, and members of the All-American Jazz Collective, came to town. Good news: they're back! This time around they will be joined by another wonderful singer and percussionist from NC: Mashli Morales-Cruz. You won't want to miss her IA debut; she'll knock your socks off, guaranteed.

3 - More guests! Joining us on bass this time is Miles Rochford. He's already making a name for himself and is currently a graduate student at the University of Iowa. We're very fortunate that he agreed to hold down the groove.

4 - Joining us on trumpet, we have a true legend out of Chicago, the one and only Dave Katz. If you don't already know him, you've been missing out.

5 - Finally, it's an Art Center Jazz Night! The vibe will be on point, the food will be themed and amazing, and our hosts will be lovely.

If you love jazz, love community, and are looking for an unforgettable experience put on by humans for other humans, this is for you. 🎶

Are you a book lover? New to stained glass or looking to brush up on your skills? Then this class is for you! Using the copper foil method, students will be guided through the entire stained glass process in order to learn the tools and techniques necessary to create their very own book sun catcher.

•No experience necessary.
•All tools and supplies will be provided.
•This class takes place in our upstairs space. We do have an elevator that can be used if necessary.
