Artist Highlight, F**d Satterfield

As part of our current exhibition, The Shape of Nature, we’re highlighting the monumental landscape paintings of Bay Area artist F**d Satterfield.

Drawing from a lifelong connection to the natural world, Satterfield creates immersive landscapes that exist somewhere between abstraction and representation. Satterfield’s paintings are still yet moving, keeping your eye engaged while you explore the large-scale abstracted landscapes.

Layered color, expressive brushwork, light, and atmosphere come together to capture not just how a place looks, but how it feels.

Artist Highlight: Kristine Taylor

As part of our current exhibition, The Shape of Nature, we’re highlighting the bronze sculptures of Bay Area artist Kristine Taylor.

Inspired by the behavior and movement of animals, Taylor uses simplified, refined forms to capture the personality and character of each subject. Her sculptures are cast in bronze in Northern California, bringing together careful observation, craftsmanship, and a lifelong fascination with the natural world.

A sweeping retrospective honoring the celebrated Bay Area Figurative artist’s centennial year.
The exhibition spans eight decades of artistic evolution, from his early 1950s abstractions to a new painting completed in 2026. Featuring works from each defining period, the show traces his enduring exploration of color, figure, and light.
