Madeline Davis GLBT archive at the Karpeles Manuscript Library The Madeline Davis Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender archives available at the Karpeles Manuscript Library & Museum

Through a collaboration between Buffalo State and The Karpeles Manuscript Library and Museum located at 220 North, a selection of the GLBT archives of Madeline Davis will be on display for the public. This exhibit is being organized and executed under the instruction of Nancy Weekly, head of collections at the Burchfield Penney arts center, by graduate students of the Buffalo State Museum Studies

department. The Madeline Davis Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender archive recently found a home in the archives of Buffalo State. Through this collaboration, Nancy Weekly's students aim to present a cross section of these archives to the public, highlighting some of the important political and social achievements of the GLBT community in Buffalo, New York.

The display will open to the public on Friday, May 13th, 2011. It will also feature a First Friday reception on June 3rd from 7 - 9 pm.
