Dear Friends, as you may already know, the home of SEAD Gallery and Bookshop, the Federal Building, was sold earlier this year to a private investment group. The Innovation Underground will remain in the building but we will have to find a new home for SEAD Gallery.

In order to facilitate our move (we do not yet have a place but expect to select a new location next year), we will open the gallery one last time this Friday from 4pm to 7pm and Saturday from 10am to 6pm to reduce our inventory and clear out furniture. Please come visit us, we have some great collectible and antique books and vinyl records - great Christmas presents!

The Esther 4:14 Exhibit opens this Thursday, November 21st at 6pm! Watch this video to get a preview and learn more about the Artists! Vitality: The Art and Science of an Ornithology Collection

Just two more days until our opening reception for Vitality: The Art and Science of an Ornithology Collection. This collection is a collaboration between the SEAD Gallery & Bookshop and the Texas A&M University Biodiversity Research and Teaching Collections. Please join us this Thursday, September 19th, at 6:00 pm for hors d’oeuvres and refreshments. Special thanks to Sterling Auto Group, Texas A&M Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, George Bush Presidential Library and Museum, The Board of the Texas Ornithological Society, Purple Turtle Art Studio, Trevor Lancon, and Mike Cook.

We are so thrilled to have Dawn Winter's work back at SEAD Gallery! We became major fans of Dawn when she exhibited her work with us in 2016. Her art is marked with a sense of curiosity that pushes her to explore new techniques and her love of color, layers and texture are reflected in her paintings. Check out this video of her technique to see how she enjoys using acrylics, palette knives and her intuition to create paintings with a balanced sense of color, motion and patterns. Dawn's work will be on display as part of "Retrospective" until March 10th.

Exciting news! We have received Inari Krohn's work all the way from Finland! We are ecstatic to hang it on our walls as part of our current "Retrospective" exhibit. To celebrate, we wanted to take a look back to the last time Inari graced our walls in 2016. Check out the video to get a little preview of her process and then make sure to stop by SEAD to see her amazing prints in person.

Happy 2018! We are so thankful for the last year of celebrating the arts with Downtown Bryan. We can't wait to see what this year holds!

This month marks 5 great years of learning and sharing ideas alongside our community! A big thank you to our friends from the Brazos Valley Art League, Brazos Glassworks, Paul Hill, Pascal Bruckner, Rhonda Brinkmann, Christian Lynch, Ron Newton, and many others for sharing their stories, passions, and ideas with us!

This Thursday, during the Opening Reception for Sarah Henderson, we will be celebrating 5 years of SEAD Gallery! This week we will feature a look back at our past exhibits. We have been blessed to work with some incredible artists over the past five years -- Scott McDermott Designs, Sam Baker, Charles Wallis Art Space, Shelly Floyd, Evan Ballowe, and all of our "Intersections" artists... just to name a few! We'll be reminiscing all week. Join us and feel free to tag us in any of your favorite SEAD memories!
