Today on the anniversary of D-Day, we recognize the heroes who courageously stormed the beaches of Normandy and shaped the end of WWII. American D-Day Veterans were welcomed back to Normandy to be honored for their service to the world. We honor them and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our freedoms.

NOTICE of current situation!
The Historical Society business office is presently MOVING into the
Haley House Museum , 123 W. Miami St. Brooksville, directly across Miami street from the courthouse.
No longer will any visits or research be done in the old jail building.
The county 911 & emergency management needed our space, and there has been an ongoing situation with security regulations that they must meet.
The Fiscal court allowed the Historical Society to set up an office in the old jail 30 years ago, and we have outgrown it with our ongoing family files and growing research library.
Please excuse any confusion or delays with research or archive visits. We will be up and running at the museum within a few weeks and return to regular office hours and museum vistors every Tuesday & Friday 10-4pm. We look forward to being in one location and also getting more visitors at our little museum!! 606 735 3337

Without the support of these guys, plus a couple more that had prior plans, the Memorial Christmas Trees would not happen.

The Memorial Christmas Trees are up and look wonderful again this year. This is our 9th year and some of you have been there from the start. We want to thank everyone that participates in this program and YOU have help keep the Museum open. .

Lights will be turned off New Year's Day. Decorations can come off from Christmas Day to January 7th.
Only take home items that you put on your tree. Lights, bows, flags, and signs are the property of the Bracken County Historical Society.

We here at the Bracken County Historical Society office want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas, and we will be here next year.

HELP. HELP. HELP. HELP. HELP
Help needed to put lights on 100 Memorial Christmas Trees around the courthouse tomorrow Wednesday 29th. Our goal is to have Trees ready for donators to decorate before the B'ville Christmas parade this Saturday 2nd.
The more volenteers that show up the faster the trees will be completed.

Memorial Christmas Trees Update

We have Trees that haven't been paid for in Brooksville, so Friday we will start notifying our waiting list.

In Augusta we have a few Trees available. Anyone wanting a tree please let us know asap.

Right now planning on starting Thanksgiving weekend. Our goal is to have Trees up and signed before the parades in Brooksville and Augusta. December 2nd and the 9th

Price is same as last year $100. Cut off for payment is November 1st, at that time we go to the waiting list.
