RICHARD BEAVERS GALLERY | THE ARMORY SHOW
IN PLAIN SIGHT

Get ready for Richard Beavers Gallery’s Armory exclusive exhibition In Plain Sight.
Bringing together artists whose practices vary widely in material, approach, and visual language, In Plain Sight foregrounds difference as a generative force rather than a point of division. Through this plurality, the exhibition invites viewers to reconsider how race, identity, and belonging are constructed, perceived, and mediated under ongoing systemic pressures. The works resist singular narratives, instead offering layered perspectives that reflect the nuances of lived experience shaped by history, place, and social context.
At its core, In Plain Sight challenges the assumption that visibility equates to understanding.

48 HOURS LEFT
REMASTERED BY TERRON COOPER SORRELLS

“I want you to know that every part of this process was done by hand.”

You only have three more days to experience “Remastered” a solo exhibition by Terron Cooper Sorrells. Long before an image emerges, before color is mixed or oil touches the surface, Terron Cooper Sorrells prepares each canvas by hand. Rather than relying on commercially pre-primed surfaces, he applies his own gesso, creating a foundation that responds to paint according to his own standards rather than those established by the factory. It is a painstaking beginning, one that reflects an understanding of painting as an accumulation of deliberate choices rather than isolated moments of inspiration.

On View: July 25th - August 8th
