Friends of Walker Tavern

Friends of Walker Tavern The Friends of Walker Tavern formed in 2006 to help further the mission of Walker Tavern Historic Site in Lenawee County.

Once a stagecoach stop between Detroit and Chicago, the Walker Tavern Historic Site now offers visitors the chance to step back in time to Michigan’s frontier days. Already, the group has made a positive impact on Walker Tavern and the community.

Here’s an opportunity tomorrow, Sunday, August 16, 2026:
When was the last time you or your kids watched an actual blacksmith in action? In addition, we will also have a clay artist using a manual kick wheel similar to those from the 18th - 19th century Industrial Revolution. Visit our other artists while here as they share their talents and skills. Walker Tavern Farm & Craft Market

Happy World Ranger Day!

Today, we’re celebrating the incredible park rangers who work hard every day at our park!

From maintaining trails and facilities to educating visitors, responding to emergencies, caring for the land, and sharing their knowledge with the public, rangers wear a lot of hats and they do it all with a passion for the park!

Help us celebrate World Ranger Day by thanking Rangers for all they do!
