The answer to yesterday's post: Here are the aircraft identification notes as typed on the original negative envelope by Leo Kohn. Sadly, only one of these aircraft is still active on the FAA registry.

Nobody correctly guessed the middle aircraft, a modified Taylorcraft ST-100. Anyone know what it was modified from or to?

On this beautiful flying day we're reminded of common local airport scenes from years past. See here at Curtiss-Wright Airport in Granville (Milwaukee) Wisconsin on June 16, 1951. Who can name the five aircraft shown? We'll post the answers tomorrow.

Aviation writer Sparky Barnes gives some great overage to the Kelch Aviation Museum and the annual MAAC "Grassroots" fly-in at Brodhead Airport. Check it out:

The Midwest Antique Airplane Club's private, members-only Grassroots Fly-in is held annually at Brodhead Airport (C37) in Wisconsin the weekend after Labor Day. At this scintillating field of dreams, life’s concerns and complexities are literally transcended.

Cary Grant and Jean Arthur are calling you to be certain you're at tonight's showing of "Only Angels Have Wings." Firebolt Pizza is served at 6:30 and the movie and popcorn start at 7:00 pm. Free and family friendly! A $10 donation is encouraged and appreciated. Join us at the Kelch Aviation Museum in the Joranlien Fellowship Hall.

Directed by classic filmmaker Howard Hawks, this 1939 nail-biter tells the story of the manager of an air freight company (Cary Grant) in a remote South American port town, who is forced to risk his pilots' lives while vying for a major contract. This was also Rita Hayworth's first significant acting role in a movie.

We’re on the cover of Vintage Airplane magazine this month! The only flying Butler Blackhawk in the world lives at the Kelch Aviation Museum, owned by Kent McMakin.

Check out the beautiful photos taken by Connor Madison, and read the Blackhawk’s amazing story below in an article co-written by our own creative director Ami.

Accompanied by a Stearman C-3, the Butler Blackhawk boasts an incredible journey, now standing as the sole flying example among the two surviving Blackhawks.

Restored from a bare frame by its current owner, Kent McMakin, and his father Don, this aircraft now proudly resides on a long-term loan at the Kelch Aviation Museum in Brodhead, Wisconsin.
