Leave Your Mark on Bristow History 🧱

The Bristow Historical Society has just 8 engraved bricks remaining in the commemorative wall located behind the Chrysler Tower in Chrysler Tower Plaza.

These standard-sized bricks are already installed in the wall and can be personalized with your name, family name, or a dedication for just $200. Once purchased, the brick will be professionally engraved on-site.

This is a unique opportunity to become a permanent part of Bristow's history while supporting the preservation of our community's heritage.

Only 8 bricks are available, and we expect them to go quickly. If you're interested, send us a message, or comment below for more information.

This evening, this beautiful couple visited the depot to capture some photographs prior to their departure for Tulsa, where they will enjoy watching the classic car parade tomorrow. Over 5000 vehicles have registered, and a significant number of them will pass through Bristow tomorrow. Let us extend a warm Bristow welcome to them!

Following the extinguishing of the fire, the bricks being unstable, were pulled down. The photographer captured the scene as numerous onlookers observed. Note the crates, barrels and furniture hastily removed from adjacent businesses and placed in the street. At the time of the fire, the building housed the Rogers Cafe, the Army and Navy Store and the American Cafe, with rented rooms located upstairs. One man, who was asleep in his room, escaped by jumping out the window. Thankfully, no one was hurt. The Hendricks building, constructed prior to 1905, held the distinction of being Bristow's first brick building.

August 24, 1922 - A notable date in local history, marked by the devastating fire that ravaged the Hendricks building at the corner of 6th and Main. Fortunately, the fire department's swift response ensured the safety of adjacent structures, with only the Stone building's windows succumbing to the intense heat.
