Today's Open Studio Weekend sponsored by the Vermont Craft Council at Robert Compton Pottery. Over 80 people stopped by, many who have been driving by for years. Nara had a great time meeting folks.

The Memorial Day Weekend weather looks terrible for camping, gardening, or going to the beach! Don’t despair, plan to spend the whole weekend touring Vermont’s beautiful spring landscape and meet Vermont artists to see their studios and works of art. Plan an adventure through our back roads and small towns, visit farm stands and local restaurants as you travel to studios.

Fifteen Addison County artists will participate in the Vermont Craft Council’s Open Studio Weekend this weekend, Saturday & Sunday, May 24 & 25th, Memorial Day Weekend. The studios will be open from 10-5 each day.

Stop by Robert Compton Pottery, five miles north of Bristol village on Route 116, to pick up a map and see the pottery, kilns, studios, and Christine's weaving. Have questions? Call 802-453-3778.

This is a wonderful time to get to know your neighbors during this statewide event. While driving around the state, look for the bright yellow signs directing you to the different studios.

I betcha that you've driven by this sign on Rt 116 near the Hinesburg/Bristol line a hundred times, and like many, never stopped in to see the AHHHMazing work of Robert Compton Pottery!
This friendly is a reminder to STOP, and wonder at all the beautiful creations Robert creates, with both wood and salt glazes!
Over the weekend, our very own Customer Support Lead, Michelle met Robert (Bob) at a birthday party and is now a convert!
For over 50 years, Bob and his wife Christine, an expert fiber artist and founder of Textile Guilds, have been creating art together.

Bob works with gas kilns, pit fired kilns, and raku kilns. We HIGHLY recommend making a pit stop when you're cruising on 116! And don't forget to tell them, your shady friends at Gordon's Window Decor sent ya!
