We feel profound sadness today. We will always love you.

Today, the world lost one of its brightest lights. 💔🏳️‍🌈

Dolly Parton was more than a singer, songwriter, actress, and icon. She was a daughter of the Smoky Mountains who never forgot where she came from and someone who used her enormous platform to remind people that kindness, compassion, and love matter.

For generations of LGBTQ+ people, Dolly was a safe place in a world that wasn’t always safe for us. She welcomed her LGBTQ+ fans with warmth, defended the simple truth that we are all worthy of love, and showed that you don’t have to choose between your roots and your heart.

For those of us here in Appalachia, her loss feels especially personal. She showed the world that being Appalachian could mean generosity, resilience, humor, creativity and a whole lot of heart.

Thank you, Dolly, for reminding us to dream bigger, love harder, and be kinder.

New at Boo 💀💜

Help stock the blessing box. 💚

A Bristol community resident is asking for help keeping a local blessing box stocked for neighbors in need!

The box was donated in memory of Silas Tester, the little boy who tragically lost his life in a tractor accident earlier this year. ❤️

Allandra Ingle has been personally keeping the box stocked two to three times a week, but she is now running low on funds and donations. She says hygiene products and several food items are especially needed.

The Blessing Box is located at 9218 Reedy Creek Road, Bristol, VA 24202

If you would like to help, you can bring the donations by the box. She’s also created a Walmart wishlist that I have placed in the comments.
