"I get excited when I feature an animal in a piece. It seems an easy entry; people care about them. They each have personalities, are engaging, and, as we anthropomorphize them, become symbolic of our own emotions and behaviors. Living in Montana, that animal has been a bison for a while. Queen (Crone) is the final figure in a Triple Goddess series. Bison are known to face into a storm and circle to protect their young, exemplifying the behavior I crave from my own community. Queen (Crone) is a leader in this movement."- Audrey Hyvonen

🎡Happy Fair Week!🐮

👑In 1950, Little Princess Janet Cowley, Mary Ellen Waldron, and Nancy Ann Waldron rode in the Box Elder County Fair Parade on a float titled "Royal Round-Up" in gold and white cowgirl outfits. This tradition is continued with the Golden Spike Rodeo Royalty.🤠

What is your favorite Box Elder County Fair tradition?

📸Calling All Photographers! We want YOU to submit to our 2026 Photography Competition!

This year's theme is "Development." Development is a process, and it is a skill to be nurtured. It may represent physical or digital techniques. It may be an exterior force or an internal reflection on where we have been, where we are, or where we are going. For some, it may be a combination of these things. It is up to the artist to find the development within their craft, and share it with the world through their photography in this special exhibition.

And here's something to get truly excited about: a total of 6 cash prizes will be awarded!

The entry deadline is Saturday, September 26th. For more information and to enter, visit the link below!

"I am always amazed by the beauty and intricacy of an aspen grove. Each tree records the history of its life- from the marks left by elk chewing on the bark or black bears leaving their claw marks to the scar left by an old branch. Just as these aspens miraculously evolved from the tiny shoots of its parent clone, so did the creation of this aspen grove scene. The background landscape was layered with strips of trees that came to life as paint, embellishments and threads were layered on top. I imagine myself walking deep into the welcoming wisdom of this scene." - Carol Leasure.

This piece, "Aspen Grove," is in this year's quilt show, "Broad Spectrum IV: Evolutions". The quilt show will be on display until September 26th. Make sure to stop in, you will not want to miss it!
