It has been an incredible month for your Bridgton Historical Society beginning with a celebration of Ned Allen, long time BHS Executive Director, at Narramissic Historic Farm. He oversaw major improvements to the farm and collaborated with Loon Echo Land Trust to bring Peabody Fitch Woods to life.

On July 3rd, the grand opening of your new museum at the Methodist Church at 214 Main Street opened to an enthusiastic crowd of nearly 100, despite the brutal heat. Hours are Thursday to Sunday, 10 to 4. Volunteers are welcome! We are excited to have guest exhibitors Bridgton & S**o River Railroad Museum in our newly refurbished first floor. They bring youth, passion and and wonderful collections.

Most recently, local bands Second String and Restless Station dedicated an evening of music at the farm to benefit BHS and LELT. We are blessed to have such friends and we look forward to future gigs! The farm will be open by appointment for limited tours and mark your calendars for a yard sale at the farm September 19 during the day.

Thank you for the support, encouragement and love, we are immensely proud of what we have built for our citizens. Please come see us soon!

Restless Station is a local 6-piece band blending moody, sultry rock and folk covers with an original twist. Their haunting harmonies weave through dark and light tones, creating melodies that take listeners on a unique sound journey through the past, the familiar, and the unknown.

Second String loves hiking local trails and visiting historic farms almost as much as entertaining with a mixture of pop, rock, bluegrass, and originals. Sometimes, when they play in their favorite state of Maine, they will even throw in a dash of humor or witty banter. A variety of instruments, vocal parts, and unique song picks make Second String a first choice for anyone looking for a good time.
