Fine Line Studios is a non-profit art studio for adults with intellectual disabilities and special needs. Our art studio is part of the national non-profit organization, Resources for Human Development, providing support and resource assistance in nearly all areas of human services. Over the last 20+ years, RHD has been deeply involved with nurturing the artistic works of marginalized individuals and helping them gain exposure as artists in their local, national, and international communities. At FLS, we use the arts as a tool for our clients to gain improvement in personal independence, as well as improved community presence. The result is a quality of life many of our individuals had previously been unable to achieve. We strive to help the artists we support realize their vision in virtually all manners of creative expression. Through classes in drawing & illustration, painting techniques, printmaking, ceramics & sculpture, jewelry, fibers, filmmaking, creative writing, and original music production, we allow our clients to explore their creative desires and develop their artistic skills. We also help our individuals gain access to the local community through volunteering and leisure activities, and by visiting local art museums and galleries. Our staff members we employ to support our artists come from various backgrounds in the arts, allowing us to create a vibrant, diverse, and unique culture.

As today closes out National DSP Recognition Week 2026, we must take a moment to thank two more of our wonderful DSP’s, Quinn & John! Both bring their own unique talents to the studio & come each day with a kind heart. We are so grateful to have Quinn help us operate our music room & share her knowledge of audio equipment & not to mention she’s always willing to lead a karaoke group! We are so thankful for John who brings a calming presence as well as talents in fine arts like ceramics & painting, & he’s always up for taking FLS artists on community outings. We are blessed to have such talented & creative caregivers as DSP’s at Fine Line Studios RHD. Happy DSP Recognition Week 2026!

Today we’d like to give special recognition to the two newest members of our DSP team, Madi & Alyssa! Artist Stephen has welcomed them with open arms & they both have quickly become wonderful additions to our crew! From learning how to assist Gerald to get setup with painting, to bonding with Artists during self-esteem building games, or inspiring an Artist to create a new artwork, we are grateful for everything they do to support the Artists of Fine Line Studios! DSP’s are the folks who work directly with those we support to explore art mediums, learn new techniques, express themselves creatively. They are friends, mentors, role models, artists, advocates and so much more. Thank you Madi & Alyssa, and thank you to all Direct Support Professionals!!!

As National DSP Recognition Week continues, today we treated DSP’s to their favorite candies & sodas to sweeten their work day. They all deserve sweet treats, & this week we are trying to show our appreciation each day in a different way. Yesterday we provided them with lunch, & on Tuesday we fueled up our staff with their favorite caffeinated drinks from Starbucks. We are so very grateful to have staff at Fine Line Studios RHD who are kind, creative, compassionate, patient, & caring. Each & every FLS DSP brings unique artistic talent, & they all work so hard to make sure that the artists who we support feel seen, heard, supported, & cared for. Thank you, Direct Support Professionals, the work you do is appreciated every day!!! 🫶

Today for National DSP Recognition week, we’d like to give a special thanks to Matthias, DSP & ceramics extraordinaire at Fine Line Studios RHD! Pictured here is Matthias with Artist, Ayanna, who designed & printed the T-shirt that Matthias is wearing! Whether it’s modeling how to draw a character, how to sculpt an idea out of clay, or finding a reference image, Matthias is always willing to assist Artists at FLS to pursue their interests and express themselves creatively. Matthias is kind, patient, and a calming presence at our studio and we are so grateful they are a part of our team! Thank you, Matthias for not only being an excellent DSP but also a creative mentor, encouraging supporter, and advocate.


Matthias is very helpful in loading and unloading our electric kiln, where we fire Artists’ ceramics work right here on site! We love seeing what comes out of the kiln and what Matthias has helped make possible with clay at FLS.

It’s National DSP Recognition week, & today we’d like to give a special shout-out to Jacob Bruce, art DSP at Fine Line Studios! Jacob shows true dedication, leadership, & compassion in everything he does. Jacob is always willing to lend a hand when needed, be a listening ear, or play someone’s favorite song to cheer them up. Not only is Jacob an outstanding DSP, he is also a talented artist, advocate, creative mentor and friend! Thank you, Jacob, & thank you to all DSP’s for the work you do to support people every day!

Happy DSP Recognition Week 2026! We kicked off the week by giving our direct support professionals bouquets of fresh flowers to show our appreciation! 💐 Some of our artists made heartfelt cards with illustrations and thank you messages written inside. We are grateful not only for the DSP’s at FLS who help artists with disabilities express themselves through the arts, but to all DSP’s everywhere!
