Sometimes, even at the end of a long 12-hour shift, weather observers on the summit have to take advantage of the "good" (40 degrees with only 45 mph winds) weather while they have it! Seen here are observers Karl Philippoff and Bailey Nordin, along with new summit intern Alonso Lopez and STEM Educator Misha Leyfer, adjusting the Vane B wind device at around sunset last night.

Last night, summit and valley staff from MWOBS, the Mount Washington State Park, and the Mount Washington Auto Road gathered on the summit for the first annual summit-valley summer BBQ! Even though our new outdoor grill from would certainly have been able to withstand higher winds, we were lucky enough to see perfectly calm winds and juicy, full summit-level clouds scattered behind our corn hole tournament.
