It’s bittersweet packing up the gallery and reflecting back on what we created over the past year. A lot of heart and soul went into creating a nurturing and creative space for community. Appreciate local friends stopping by to say goodbye and wish us well.

We have some furniture for sale. Two white shelves at $70 each; black shelf $70; Two high tops with two stools each $60; two 14x14 cubes $40; waterfall desk and chair $150; Open feather flag $20; open sign $20. Glass cube display $250.

Tomorrow, Saturday July 25th is our last day in our Life’s Beautiful Journey gallery. This is my last post for our Life’s Beautiful Journey gallery.

My last post features my Contemporary Birdstone Effigy in Flight. My Contemporary Birdstone Effigy in Flight is made from a cardboard form interior, covered with plaster of Paris Gauze, and sculpted with paper pulp and spackle, and spray paint.

My Industrial Design background provided me with the background to be able to create this form from the materials used to create this artwork.

My next-door neighbor in my home community of the Tonawanda Seneca Nation shared with me that he found a birdstone Effigy in the Tonawanda Creek a couple of years ago, evidence that my ancestors used Birdstone Effigies.

This is my last post for our Life’s Beautiful Journey gallery.
In the past year of occupying our Life’s Beautiful gallery space, we have developed a fan base for the gallery and created community through our gallery.
We Love the gallery, but love doesn’t pay the rent.

Time to move on. I will continue to advocate on behalf of contemporary Indigenous art. I have curated 33 contemporary Indigenous art exhibitions, and I consult to numerous arts organizations and serve on numerous arts boards.

My Indigenous arts DNA is pre-contact.

YO, Yo, yo . . . U Know Me, Always Occupied and Never Idle,

MANinFestation DestiNation is inspired by Hodinoshioni traditional pottery and is interpreted by me as a contemporary vessel form at a large scale. This vessel is made from a cardboard core, covered in plaster of Paris gauze, with the surface built up/sculpted using paper pulp for the relief surface.

You have two more weeks remaining to see my Life’s Beautiful Journey gallery closing exhibition titled Indigenous Intrinsic MANiFestations. We have been open for a year. We have welcomed a fan base and created community for our Life’s Beautiful Journey gallery.
We Love the gallery as does our fan base, but love doesn’t pay the rent, so after a year, it’s time to Let Love Rule and move on.

I will continue to advocate for the appreciation of contemporary Indigenous art.

I have curated 33 Indigenous contemporary art exhibitions in which numerous of those curated exhibitions included international Indigenous artists.

YO, Yo, yo . . . U Know Me, Always Occupied and Never Idle. I’m here in our Life’s Beautiful Journey gallery in downtown Bremerton, around the corner from the FIFA World Cup giant screen and outdoor Fan Zone for the Argentina and Spain game.

Our Life’s Beautiful Journey gallery is not open on Sunday, but I figured why not see if we receive any residual visitors from the Fifa World Cup Fan Zone.

I figured I could shoot some video of my three-dimensional work currently in our gallery for my Indigenous Intrinsic MANiFestations exhibition. This first video is of My Lost & Found Recycled to Art titled AlterNative Protector Mask.

Ho:de:ho:dzan:doe’, “They bring the rains”, The Thunderers blew through for the first time this year on their way north this afternoon.
Their passing through is somewhat rare around these parts. I gave thanks to them.

Greetings, Life’s Beautiful Journey Fans, friends, and community,

Enjoy this feature video of my linoleum relief prints in my Indigenous Intrinsic MANiFestations exhibit in our Life’s Beautiful Journey gallery for this month. As a multidisciplinary artist, I have about 50 hand-pulled prints in my personal art inventory.
I have staged my linoleum relief prints as an art vendor at Indigenous art market venues for 20 years. The interesting aspect is that, when I choose to create new artwork, printmaking is the last artistic discipline I choose to engage because I already have 50 prints in my inventory. But I do love printmaking, and my printmaking experience was honed at the Institute of American Indian Arts, Santa Fe, New Mexico.

I have also taught numerous printmaking workshops. I taught printmaking at HOEA, Hawaiian Ohana for Education in the Arts, in Waimea, HI, in 2011. I’ve also taught numerous printmaking classes at the House of Welcome, my home community, the Tonawanda Seneca Nation, Astoria Community College, and the Pratt Fine Art Center in Seattle.

Unfortunately, we will be closing our Life’s Beautiful Journey gallery doors at the end of July. We have been open for a year, and the location is great, but not a pocketbook patron base conducive to my level of contemporary Indigenous art.

I will continue to contribute to and influence the perception and appreciation of contemporary Indigenous art.
