🎶💛 Our first Preschool Music Class was SO much fun this morning!

Thank you to all of the little musicians and grown-ups who joined us for a morning of singing, dancing, movement, instruments, and lots of smiles!

A huge thank you to Hayley Bouressa for leading our first class and making music so much fun for our littlest learners.

Missed this morning? We have two more FREE Preschool Music Classes coming up for ages 3–4!

⭐️Monday, September 28 | 5:30–6:00 PM

Each class is designed for children and their grown-ups to participate together through songs, nursery rhymes, rhythm, movement, and hands-on musical play.

We are incredibly grateful to announce a $15,000 gift from Smith Motors Inc. in support of the Children’s Discovery Center!

Their generous partnership brings us another step closer to opening the doors of the Children’s Discovery Center and creating a place where children can play, learn, explore, and dream big .. right here in our rural community.

🎉 WE’RE HIRING: EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR!

This one feels pretty special.

For more than five years, the Children’s Discovery Center has been led by a group of community volunteers.. people who believed enough in an idea to keep showing up, making calls, writing grants, raising money, hosting events, building partnerships, and figuring things out as we went.

What started as an idea over a cup of coffee becoming very real. 💙

With construction on our permanent home in downtown Breckenridge beginning this fall, we’re ready for another BIG milestone: hiring our first Executive Director.

We’re looking for someone who wants to build alongside us. A leader, connector and doer who can take what this community has started and help carry it through construction, opening day and into the future.

There is still a lot of work ahead.. and that’s part of what makes this opportunity so exciting. And most importantly, they’ll be helping build a place that we hope will impact children, families and our region for generations.

THANK YOU, BELL BANK! 💙🌳

We are thrilled to announce Bell Bank as a partner of the Children’s Discovery Center with a generous $25,000 sponsorship of the third and final treehouse in our Nature Gallery!

All three treehouses in our signature Tree Climber are now sponsored, bringing us another exciting step closer to completing this incredible gallery for children and families across our region.

We are incredibly grateful to Bell Bank for believing in this project and for their commitment to investing in the communities they serve. Partnerships like this are helping turn a big vision for rural children and families into a reality right here at home. 💚

🌿 🌳 As we prepare for construction, just TWO sponsorship opportunities remain in our Nature Gallery.

Our goal is to have the entire Nature Gallery fully sponsored by the end of the summer, and we’re looking for two more businesses, families, or community partners to help us cross the finish line.

While other exhibits throughout the Children’s Discovery Center still need support, these two opportunities will fully fund and complete the Nature Gallery as envisioned. Two exhibits. Two final Nature Gallery partners. One incredible gallery we’re determined to bring to life. 🌿

WOW! What an incredible turnout at the NDSCS Block Party!

A huge thank you to the entire NDSCS community for welcoming the Children’s Discovery Center and giving us the opportunity to be part of such a fun evening.

And a very special welcome back to all the NDSCS students! We’re so glad to have you back in our community!

What a wonderful evening filled with families, students, neighbors, and so much community spirit. We loved seeing so many kids stop by to play, create, and discover with us.

We’re incredibly grateful to be part of a community that shows up for one another.

As we prepare to begin construction on our permanent home in downtown Breckenridge this fall, we are seeking an Executive Director to help lead the Children’s Discovery Center from development to opening and beyond.

This is a unique opportunity to help build something special.. a place that will serve children and families for generations while creating new opportunities for our region and bringing new energy to downtown Breckenridge.

✨ to our June STEM Night!

More than 400 children and family members joined us for an evening of hands-on STEM fun, and it was incredible to see so many area youth and families come out for a fun evening filled with play and learning!

A big thank you to the Wahpeton Bobcat Company STEM Team for volunteering their time and inspiring
the next generation of builders and thinkers with their awesome STEM activities.

Thank you to Riverview, LLP for donating and serving delicious ice cream and for bringing their incredible team of employees. Their commitment to supporting local communities is inspiring and goes far beyond their farms. We are so grateful for their $100,000 founding gift so early on in our project.

Events like this, and the future Children’s Discovery Center, are only possible because of businesses, organizations, families, partners, and volunteers who believe in investing in the next generation.

Together, we’re creating a place where children and families can gather, play, explore, and learn through meaningful, hands-on experiences.. a place designed just for them and for the future of our community. 💚

We’re incredibly grateful to announce that the Richland Wilkin Community Foundation has pledged $25,000 to the Children’s Discovery Center, helping bring our Fire Station Exhibit to life. 🚒

This investment is about so much more than one exhibit. It’s about creating new opportunities for area youth to learn through play, giving families a welcoming place to gather year-round, and building the kinds of community spaces that bring people together.

Together, we’re transforming a vacant downtown movie theater into a vibrant destination that will generate more foot traffic for local businesses, help revitalize an entire city block, and create new energy downtown.
