Tomorrow (Wednesday, May 20, 2026), we are proud to once again host the Central/Downeast regional Maine Envirothon competition.
Envirothon is North America's largest high school environmental science competition, where students gain hands-on natural resource knowledge through interaction with soil scientists, foresters, and biologists.
While the Museum grounds will remain open to the public, we ask that all visitors respect these dedicated students and the program coordinators and observe the competition from a safe distance.
As with all of our events, for reasons of safety, we will be suspending our dog policy for the day - ONLY ADA Service dogs, on leash, are allowed on Museum property for Wednesday May 20, 2026. Our regular dog policy will be back in effect on Thursday May 21, 2026. We appreciate your understanding!

We wish our "home team" - the Central/Downeast student competitors - the best of luck, and we thank them for their commitment to our beautiful state's natural resources.
Join Maine's Envirothon to test high school students' environmental knowledge through competitions across natural resource topics, fostering hands-on learning and professional connections.
