Maine Forest and Logging Museum celebrates Maine’s rich forestry and logging history through education, demonstration, preservation, and conservation; fostering curiosity and enjoyment for all ages; and inspires & encourages others to join our efforts. is a nonprofit organization incorporated in 1960 dedicated to keeping alive the forest industry of long ago for the present-day citizens of the Sta

te of Maine. Located on approximately 400 acres on Blackman Stream in Bradley, Leonard's Mills is at the actual site of an early pioneer settlement, identified by the remains of a stone dam and the foundations of several houses. Today, Leonard's Mills is "alive" once again, as the Museum is represented by an authentic reconstruction of a logging and milling community of the 1790s. The Museum, through our Living History site at Leonard's Mills, teaches people of all ages about the forest and logging history of Maine.

Tomorrow is our last event of the summer, Heavy Metal Day! Come join us from 10 to 3 as we have the mills and heavy equipment running. In addition, be some of the first to see the newest edition to the collect. 1932 Ford BB one and a half ton truck.

Cletrac tractor rides again! A little more fine tuning but after a distributor rebuild and cleaning out the carburetor she started. Just in time for tomorrows Heavy Metal Day event! Event runs from 10:00 to 3:00.

We are now almost to Heavy Metal Day! Come out and explore the museum grounds along with watching our amazing volunteer's demo many of the exhibits. Looks like it is going to be a beautiful day and warm so make sure to dress appropriately.

Reminder, only service animals allowed on grounds during events. This is enforced at the gate. Thank you for your understanding.

We are just ten days away from Heavy Metal Day and so excited!!!! Once of the big items we celebrate are the Lombard Log Haulers along with Blacksmithing, the sawmills, and more. Come out and join us on Saturday July 25th from 10:00 to 3:00 for this event. It will be our last event of the summer. Maybe we can get the crew to do one last Lombard "parade" for the summer.

Annual Members Meeting

The Maine Forest and Logging Museum's Annual Members Meeting will be held on Saturday, July 25, at 3:00 p.m., immediately following our Heavy Metal Day event.

We invite all current and former members to join us for an update on the museum's activities, accomplishments, and plans for the remainder of the year. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the museum, meet members of the Board of Directors, and hear about the exciting work taking place to preserve Maine's rich forestry and logging heritage.

Topics of discussion will include, but are not limited to:

Museum events and programs
Recent acquisitions to the museum's collections
Upcoming projects and initiatives
Meet the Board of Directors
General museum updates and future plans

We encourage all current and former members to attend. Your support, ideas, and participation help shape the future of the Maine Forest and Logging Museum, and we look forward to seeing you there.
