🌎 Happy Indigenous Peoples’ Day!
We’re wrapping up our celebration of the MSU American Indian Council Royalty, whose ambassadors share their cultures, represent their communities, and build connections along the powwow trail and beyond.
✨ Meet Miss MSU: Ulali Nightgun-Adams, Aakaihpiyiaaki (Many Dancing Woman); Blackfeet/Yakama
Ulali is a member of the Blackfeet and Yakama Nations, and comes from Seattle Washington. She is currently studying Fish & Wildlife management with a minor in Native American studies at MSU while being on the pre-law track. At MSU she is a part of many organizations and clubs, working as one of the Cultural Programming Assistants in the American Indian Hall, the Secretary of AIBL, and working as a research assistant in Social Data.
Over the summer she traveled all over the PNW and Rocky Mountain regions, representing her title and institution She met an array of people making many different connections. With each stop on the powwow trail, she brought new knowledge and connections with her to the next. When she wasn't dancing, she was working on her craft and love for beading. Selling and sharing her art with others! She hopes to continue building these lifelong connections throughout all the journeys she'll take.

As we close out today's series, we're proud to celebrate the Montana State University Royalty and the people who share their cultures, strengthen their communities, and inspire future generations of Indigenous leaders.

We’re continuing our celebration of the MSU American Indian Council Royalty, whose ambassadors share their cultures, represent their communities, and build connections along the powwow trail and beyond.
✨ Next up, meet Miss Teen MSU: Amazing Day Russell is Apsaalooké, Tsistsistas, Sahnish, and Aaniiih.
She is Miss Teen Montana State University and the winner of the Female Ultimate Warrior Challenge for the Crow Tribe. A proud member of the Native American Church, Amazing is deeply connected to her cultures and community. She serves on the Western Native Voice Student Board and is a junior at Lockwood High School. A dedicated athlete, she enjoys running and participates in flag football, volleyball, basketball, cross country, and track. Through her leadership, athleticism, cultural pride, and determination, Amazing strives to inspire the next generation of Indigenous youth.
Stay tuned as we continue highlighting the Montana State University Royalty and celebrating the people, cultures, and traditions that enrich our communities!

✨ Next up, meet Miss Jr MSU: Mo'ona'e Mahta'sooma (Pretty Spirit) Northern Cheyenne and Chippewa Cree
Hazel has a big heart for her culture and community This summer, she traveled across Montana with her family, camping along the way and attending powwows throughout Indian Country. She closed out her summer with a special experience, dancing on the beautiful island of Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi. Through every step she takes in the arbor, Hazel continues to embrace her culture and make meaningful connections. Moving into the Winter months you will find her skiing in the Bridgers and all over Montana.
Stay tuned throughout the day as we continue highlighting the Montana State University Royalty and celebrating the people, cultures, and traditions that enrich our communities.
