Registration is now open for fall 2026 art classes!
"Art for Homeschool Students with Ashley West"

In this hands-on homeschool art class, students will explore a variety of art techniques, mediums, famous artists, and creative styles while developing their own artistic voice. Throughout the class, students will learn the foundations of drawing, painting, color theory, shading, perspective, printmaking, collage, mixed media, and more.

Each week will introduce students to a different artist or art movement, giving them an opportunity to learn about art history while creating their own original artwork inspired by what they’ve studied. Students will practice observation, creativity, problem-solving, and expressing ideas visually.
For kids ages 7 and up!
Registration is limited to 10 students--first come first served:

We don’t normally share the results of a survey with everyone, but the answers made us feel so loved that we had to share.

We asked for anonymous comments on our weekly open pottery studio sessions, and the answers blew us away:

▶️ “This is the best experience I’ve had with clay! Thank you!”

▶️ “You should charge more than $10”

▶️ "Very chill and relaxing”

▶️ “Everyone was very friendly”

▶️ "Pleasant environment and friendly people”

▶️ “We love Catherine. She is great!”

Rest assured, prices are not going up. We’re just so happy to have a community that loves us as much as we love them. It's something Bryce cherished, and as a part of his legacy, we cherish it too.

If you want to spend some time with us but don't have the cash, we offer help through our Heron Fund. Message us for details!

🚨🚨🚨Are you ready to be crowned as the 2026 Sultan of Summer Squash?🏁

We're hosting our annual Zucchini Races again this year at Celebrate Bowdoinham, where you could become King Of the Zucchini!

It's pretty simple: bring your finely tuned vegetable to the table by 11am on September 12th, and compete against others in categories such as heavyweight, middleweight and PICKLEweight!

We race until only one from each category stands firm in the face of the grill fire, who shall then be crowned 👑.

So, get peeling 🤦‍♀️ and we hope to see you there!

If you haven't heard, a huge congratulations is in order! Zachary Fields, who runs our Wednesday evening open pottery studio sessions AND co-owns Turning Arts Studio with his wife Janna, placed 2nd in the "Fine Craft Other" category at the Brunswick Outdoor Arts Festival this past weekend!

In addition to the new traffic pattern at the center of town, you may have also seen our new art installation at the corner. It features a painting project accomplished by the students of Bowdoinham Community School.

As a collaboration with Alston (the art teacher at BCS), Leah Dence began planning this project over a year ago. Her hope was to integrate the kids of the community into what we do here at the MAC.

“I wanted them to create a piece of art that would be proudly displayed in town so they could see it as they passed through with their families and for them to feel included and valued by the community,” says Dence.

We couldn’t have done it without our AMAZING sponsors: Banana Banners, Hammond Lumber, Top Tech Auto, Cobbs Repair Services, Three Robbers Pub, Paul Robert Auto Body, and Mind Your Manor Management!

"Leonard's paintings impressed me immediately as relaxed and fun.
Flowers, animals and mostly cars are her subjects. The cars come from a different era.

The brushwork is unlabored and loose. The spontaneity belies a deep and intuitive understanding of color and composition.

And more over whimsy."

-Doug Chess

Margaret's show opens this morning at 10am. We hope you'll stop by!

📸Kid’s Summer Photography Camp
📅July 28th & 30th
🕐1:00pm to 3:30pm
💲$30
🚶‍♀️Ages 8-15

Our 2nd and final photography camp is coming up!

Learn the basics of photography with professional photographer Leah Haraden. Your child will learn about the artistic side of photography using good composition techniques, available light, and much more. The program will include instruction and hands-on practice with a variety of challenging subjects and in-class assignments. Your child will learn to see the world through their own unique lens.

Digital cameras are recommended, but any type of camera will work—including cell phones. An exhibition of the students’ work will be held in the Merrymeeting Arts Center Gallery on Sept 25th.

Students must provide their own camera. An additional $10 photo printing fee will be payable to the instructor at the end of class so each student will have at least one professionally-printed image to keep.
