Thank you to everyone who joined us for the opening of Echoes in the Void: Works by Four Contemporary Abstract Painters on May 15th. The exhibition brings together the work of Rio Rayne, Matt O’Neill, Natasha Mistry, and Daniel Strawn, alongside From My Archives, a photography and collage presentation curated by Mark Sink.

A reminder that the exhibition remains on view through June 12th. Appointments can be booked through our website or by emailing [email protected].

Today, Seidel City would like to highlight two works from Rio Rayne’s series A Clip From The Roll Of Infinity. Created over a twenty-year period, the series reflects the artist’s nomadic lifestyle and serves as a visual travelogue of experiences, ideas, and research accumulated across two decades. The works journeyed with Rayne from New York City to Los Angeles, back to New York, then to Hawaii, San Francisco, and ultimately Florida, where the series was completed.

Layering geometry, color, symbolism, and collage into expansive compositions, these works embody a sustained process of movement, observation, and transformation. The result is a dense and immersive visual archive that rewards repeated viewing, revealing new connections and discoveries with each encounter.

Featured works:

A Clip From The Roll Of Infinity (1983–2003)

Seidel City is pleased to feature works by Natasha Mistry in Echoes in the Void: Works by Four Contemporary Abstract Painters, on view May 15 – June 12, 2026.

Opening Reception: Friday, May 15, 6pm – 9pm

A British artist of mixed South Asian and Celtic heritage, Mistry’s practice is a disciplined investigation into the architecture of the subconscious. Through luminous geometric compositions constructed with meticulous pointillism, mica infused oils, natural pigments, and graphite, her paintings function as meditative spaces that explore sacred geometry, organic pattern, and the Jungian unconscious.

Based between Boulder and London, Mistry has spent more than two decades developing a visual language that bridges mystical traditions with contemporary precision. Her international practice has included solo exhibitions across the UK, USA, and South Korea, as well as residencies in the Peruvian Amazon and Andalusia, Spain.

Mistry was previously featured at Seidel City in The Diamond Grid Collection, a 2024 exhibition centered around her work and ongoing exploration of geometric abstraction and meditative space.

Featured works:
Untitled #3401, 2026, oil and mica infused oils on canvas Untitled #3330, 2025, oil and mica infused oils on canvas

Counting the Days: #119

Join us at Seidel City for an evening of experimental film and interdisciplinary practice, bringing together a dynamic group of emerging and established artists.

Inspired by the calendric writing of Danish author Solvej B***e and the work of structural filmmakers Hollis Frampton and J.J. Murphy, these 11 artists will share a wide range of filmmaking styles and artistic works. Some have studied sculpture or film, others French language or Italian theatre, while others are rooted in the sciences.

Spanning abstraction, performance, and narrative, the works presented reflect the varied approaches and intellectual foundations that shape contemporary moving image practice today.
