"Contemplation" 2019 digital archival print by American photographer Sonya Tanae Fort

Sonya's work is rapidly gaining recognition. She has been featured in numerous exhibitions in the United States and abroad. Her portraiture and urban rural images comprise a powerful and intense narrative of the people and places she selects, often transforming her chosen subject matter into visual poetry.

There’s an exhibit at the Lawrence Mass Public Library made up of books I donated in memory of my father, Allan A. Tepper. We chose the books because of my father's love of readings, of books, and sharing. them. The exhibit will be at the library until at least the second week of February
I am trying to get more specific information from Louise Sandberg, the archivist in charge of Special Collections, about its duration .

My grandparents immigrated to Lawrence at the turn of the 19th century. My father was born and lived in Lawrence until graduating high school. He was an avid reader and a book lover.

I’m also a Bostonian, went to Boston University and Boston College Graduate school, have lived most of my life in and around Boston.I am the director of a contemporary art gallery in Boston.

I marvel at the struggle that prevails for the new cycle of immigrants who continue to make a new life in this town. I served as multilingual interpreter for many such people. I have been impressed with Mayor Dan Rivera's administration and the citizens of Lawrence who are coping bravely with the difficulties of the present situation.

A visit to the Library was a revelation both about the building, its we;coming gracious staff and the excellent range of information, services, and support it offers the community. We hope to donate more books in the future. We trust that as many people of all ages would enjoy or learn from these books as we have. There's more information about the exhibit in the attached file.

We would be thrilled if you’d let your readers know that they can borrow these books now. Should you have any questions, I’d be pleased to speak with you. You can reach me by email or phone:

Sincerely,
