In honor of , we’re reflecting on the role U.S. Borax has played in preserving remarkable landscapes such as Death Valley National Park.

Our history in the region spans more than a century and connects to the early vision for America’s national parks. Stephen Mather, the man behind our iconic 20 Mule Team® brand, originally pitched the idea of creating a National Park Service (NPS) and became its first director.

Momentum continued as U.S. Borax supported efforts to designate Death Valley a national monument, and later a national park. Along the way, we donated land to help protect this extraordinary landscape for future generations.

Happy Earth Day! Borates are an important part of the agriculture industry. Stop by and see other industries that rely on boron!

This Earth Day, we’re focusing on one of the planet’s most essential and finite resources: Soil.

As global food demand increases, ensuring soil is as healthy and productive as possible is critical.

Farmers can improve soil health in several ways, including applying refined fertilizers that deliver essential micronutrients such as boron without harmful contaminants.

We're pleased to announce the official opening of our restored 20 Mule Team wagon display. The project was a joint effort between our employees, contractors, retirees, and community members.

It's dedicated to Bobby Tanner, the last muleskinner for U.S. Borax, who passed away in June 2024. You can visit this amazing piece of history at the our Visitor Center.

As spring break approaches, a rare superbloom is drawing visitors from around the world to Death Valley National Park—visiting distance from U.S. Borax operations.

After unusually high rainfall and favorable temperatures, North America’s hottest landscape transforms into sweeping fields of gold, purple, and pink wildflowers.

This region has long been a part of our story. More than a century ago, U.S. Borax donated land that would become part of the park, helping preserve this remarkable landscape for future generations.

If you’re visiting the area, stop by the Borax Visitor Center in Boron, California. There you can explore the history of borate mining, see the iconic 20 Mule Team wagons, learn about our conservation history, and discover how boron continues to support modern life.

Thanks to Katherine Warington, we understand that plants need boron to survive and thrive. Visit us to see other uses for borates.

And, happy National Women's History Month!

March marks Women’s History Month, a time to recognize women whose work changed the world.

Katherine Warington was one of those pioneers. At a time when few women pursued careers in science, Warington broke barriers as a research chemist. Her work demonstrated that boron is essential for plant growth and development.
