"Mischief Night" artists spotlight

Alakananda Chakrabarty of Elysburg has shown at The Exchange since 2024 and has three pieces in "Mischief Night". Here we see at top left "Open The Window And Let The Spirits In" in mixed media, 22 inches high by 18 inches wide overall and $150. Below and to the right of that we see Kelsey Devine's "Ghost Gallery" in mixed media, 20 inches high by 16 inches wide; Kelsey, in 1st grade, lives in rural Catawissa and first had work here in this year's Roaring Creek Valley exhibition, a collaboration with her older sister, Kennedy, but with this piece she has work here for the first time on her own.

At top center we see Jessica Rightnour-Miller's mixed-media piece "Upcycled Thrift Ghost Print", 13-1/2 inches by 15-1/2 inches and $30; Jessica lives in Bloomsburg and has shown dozens of pieces here since 2023's "Food For Thought" exhibition.

Work by two first-time Exchange exhibitors rounds out this post: At top right, Bloomsburg's Jackie Winters's "Skeleton With Butterfly" in water-soluble oil, 15-1/2 by 12-1/2 overall and $75; at lower right, thew photograph "David's Passion", 15 inches by 17 inches overall and $120, by Colette Heim of Winfield, south of Lewisburg.

The "Mischief Night" show now hangs at the Exchange Gallery in Bloomsburg -- 109 pieces by 40 artists from six central-Pennsylvania counties (Columbia, Luzerne, Lycoming, Montour, Northumberland, and Union), and ten of these artists have work here for the first time!

"Mischief Night" runs through the 20th of November, with a reception 5-8 p.m. on November 6th, during Downtown Bloomsburg,'s First Friday; visit exchangearts.org/gallery-hours for our hours, which occasionally vary from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.

What a great time we had a BOO!burg last night! Thanks to everyone who came out -- hundreds of families from all over, many of them all decked out in the costumes that we got to judge. We'll contact the winners starting on Monday.

Brooks Williams plays the Listening Room this coming Wednesday, the 28th of October -- don't miss him!

It's a blessing to go back to one's roots and remember where it all began. And that's precisely what I'm doing over the next couple weeks. Excited to play these stages so influential to me. Nervous that I'll make the hometown crowd proud. If you're in the area come see for yourself! And a bit thank you to the venues for having me back!

"Mischief Night" artists spotlight

In a group of artwork by three long-time Exchange exhibitors and a first-timer, we have pieces here by Shaina Davis of Danville, Jessica Rightnour-Miller of Bloomsburg, Jackie Winters of Bloomsburg (displaying at The Exchange for the first time), and Chet Davis of Paxinos.

Among Shaina's four pieces in "Mischief Night", we see two here: the print "Hungry Squirrel", 12 inches high by 10 inches wide overall, $35, and the oil painting "Pumpkin", 6-1/2 inches square overall, $28. Jessica has more than a dozen pieces in the show; here we see "3D Skull on canvas", 10 inches high by 8 inches wide by 3 inches deep, $14.

Jackie brought four paintings to the show; here we see "Skeleton With Candle" in water-soluble oil, 11-1/4 by 9-1/4 overall, $50. Among Chet's three pieces in "Mischief Night", we see here "Curiosity" in acrylic, 16 inches by 20 and $200.

"Mischief Night" artists spotlight

Angelina Broyan of Berwick has shown work at the Exchange Gallery in a couple of prior exhibitions, beginning with American Dreams" last year. For "Mischief Night", she brought three paintings, all for display and not for sale: "Murder Mascots" in acrylic measures 20 inches high by 16 inches wide; "Midnight Mischief" in oil measures 30 inches high by 24 inches wide; and "Melancholia" measures 48 inches high by 36 inches wide. Frequent exhibitor Melissa Matthews of Bloomsburg has shown work here in many media; for "Mischief Night" she brought a photograph entitled "The Night The 'E' Burned Out". It measures 10 inches high by 13 inches wide and has a price of $47.

Another frequent exhibitor here in many media, Chris Stametz of Shamokin brought a mixed-media collage to "Mischief Night": "Green Eyes" measures 13-1/2 inches square and has a price of $125.

The "Mischief Night" show has gone up at the Exchange Gallery in Bloomsburg -- 109 pieces by 40 artists from six central-Pennsylvania counties (Columbia, Luzerne, Lycoming, Montour,
Northumberland, and Union), and ten of these artists have work here for the first time!

Kennedy Devine of rural Catawissa has, in 4th grade, shown work in two Exchange Gallery exhibitions before "Mischief Night". For this one, she (with some help from her grandmother on the hot glue) created a mixed-media "Magic Mirror"; not for sale, it measures about 32 inches high by 20 inches wide by 4 inches deep.

Jackie Winters of suburban Bloomsburg has work at The Exchange for the first time; a few decades older than Kennedy (but only a few), Jackie brought four paintings in water-soluble oil. This one, "Laboratory", measures 19 inches high and 15 inches wide overall and has a price of $100.
