Wazo Designs

Wazo Designs Contemporary, handmade jewelry inspired by natures bold textures, forms and movements.

I'm drawn to creating wearable curiosities highlighting nature's bold spirit and character. Artistic visual cues range from the Southwestern's boundless sun-drenched blue skies, contrasting mountain-scapes, scaffolding cactus skeletons, bleached bones and neon desert blossoms. Wearing a piece activates a tactile experience meant to recreate an idea as an adornment. My works largely become mobile works of wearable art; meant to be both worn and observed.

Feeling like I can take a deep, fresh breathe of air again. Still so much work for us to do but there is real hope this time. Hope for a better future for the planet, our diverse communities, education, health, freedoms, unity, compassion and kindness. Time to stop giving hate and bigotry the spotlight.

Please vote this November 3rd. Whatever your position (though I really hope not for Trump, sorry not sorry), please go out and vote. Please put your community, your family/friends, your environment, your local businesses, Healthcare, and education first. Please think about the future of your kin. Does the last 4 years really look like they care about those things? You think Trump cares about you? Do you think we can have another 4 years of this?
I sure as hell don't want another 4 years of kids in ICE cages. I sure as hell am sick of science deniers. I sure as hell am sick of so-called "pro-lifers" when they leave behind the born. I sure as hell tired of arguing about masks. These are all some of the reasons I'm voting. Let's do this together! Please vote!

Lately, I haven't had access to my studio and have been too busy with school to figure out time so instead I grabbed a pencil and paper and free-handed this flamingo from a photo. Felt good and been a while since I sketched like that.
Some of you already know this, but for those who don't - I have a spiritual admiration and love for all things avian. For me, there are countless reasons why to love them. I've always been fascinated by their wide variations in size, color, shape, personalities, courting rituals, flight (or no flight), prey and predator, songs, etc. I've also fantasized about the power and freedom of flight. To feel one with the sky and how peaceful it must be to be up there. Just a plethora of amazingness about these creatures.

The Cameron Peak fire, view from my driveway. Starting back on August 13th, It's the largest fire in Colorado's history. As of 18 hours ago, it had burned over 173,000 acres. Can be see encroaching on the town of Estes Park and possibly burned down hundreds of homes now.
Along with the rest of the west thats under fire, a debilitating pandemic, record hurricanes, civil unrest and divisions, and last but surely not least - an incompetent and corrupt administration under Trump. Please, I beg of you, look to the future of your kin and go vote this election. I believe we can still save the country if we can make healthy changes for the better. Healthy and good changes for ourselves, our health, our communities, our environment and all it's creatures that inhabit it. There are too many alarms going off to ignore and it's all breaking my heart. How much more destruction needs to happen to make you believe this is a major issue? Are you waiting until it comes to your front door? Because if you do nothing, it will and it will then be too late. VOTE. PLEASE.
