Courtyard Gallery and Studio Courtyard Gallery actively supports our local and area artists, housed in an Historic Building on the Main Street Community Square in Bloomfield, Iowa.

We have from 14 to 17 different artists with works in Oils, Watercolors, Soft Pastels, Woodcuts, China & Porcelain Painting, Custom Jewelry, Quilts, Barn Art, Ink Drawings, Gourd Art, Acrylics, Metal Work, Childrens and Historical Books by our Authors, and Photography. We also offer classes throughout the year in many of these areas .. for children as well as adults (with special summer classes).

All of our artists are both local and area people. Many of them are both Nationally and Internationally known, and have won numerous awards and recognition. We also feature monthly Guest Artists to showcase the talent that exists throughout our area that are not permanent artists of the Gallery. Our Courtyard Gallery is well known as having it's early start in the late 1800's with a Studebaker Buggy Business that involved the manufacturing of the buggies on second floor, and rolling them onto a manually operated freight elevator and taken to the lowest level to reach the back alley. Hardware and Implement dealers, Bicycle shops, Clothing Stores, Antique Shops and Pottery Shops are some of the businesses that have been involved in our building before we restored it back to the original and beautiful tin ceilings which can be seen in many of our photos. You just have to stop in to see our wonderful art work, enjoy the atmosphere and music, along with pleasant chatter to make your visit very special!

Although we sold our beautiful Gallery a year ago, I do still have my beautiful jewelry pieces (made completely by me .. I do not purchase anything from others. There are also other things .... I will be posting things on this sight. Thanks for checking this site ... see you soon!

Although we closed the Gallery a year ago ... I do still have my jewelry and other items. I am planning to post things on this site in case anyone is interested. This jewelry is gorgeous, and made personably by me. Nothing posted is purchased from anyone! Hang in there as we have been busy fixing up a home, etc. Thanks for your continued support.

Thanks for checking in occasionally .. Just haven't gotten time to get my jewelry posted! And I need to get new things completed. We had a lot of damage to our home due to a major water break and are still trying to get someone to come in and finish things up..... Give me a couple more weeks. Thanks for checking in!

The Courtyard Gallery has been sold and today is my first day away from the Gallery. It is going to take a while to get use to this .. But when we moved most everything home so I am in the long process of sorting and storing. I want to thank everyone that supported our efforts of promoting Davis County and other area Artists .. It was an amazing journey .. Almost 5 wonderful years. Bless all of you for your kindness .. You have brightened my efforts and life!!!

Time is moving so fast now that we are on the down hill .. All our Artists have removed their works, just so busy packing up everything and believe me I think I bought 1 of everything to make things nicer for everyone.... Most of our things are heading across the square to the old Pool Hall .. Going to have Saturday Morning "yard sales" till we get things thinned out! I want to Thank Everyone that made this wish of mine come to life! So many new friends and others that gave us about 5 years of amazing friendship!

We are selling a lot of the things here in the Gallery .. not taking anything home as there is no room in the inn!!! If you are interested please take a few minutes to stop by. We have a beautiful 4 section hand carved screen, a solid walnut table that sits next to a chair or bed ... one of a kind! And lots of other items .. stop in as I am here all day today (Thursday) but will be out of the Gallery Friday.

I am making an announcement that is rather sad for us. We have made the decision to permanently close our Courtyard Gallery by the end of this year. We didn't do this lightly but felt it was the right decision for us. Sad to say a business cannot continue unless the public is supportive, and it isn't the fault of the artists which have continually provided amazing artwork throughout the last 4 1/2 years. We want to Thank all of you that have been so loyal to our business, we will miss you and all the wonderful visits we have had. Again, we will be open for several months yet. Come check out all our beautiful works!

If you have checked out all my photos on Jessie Brewer's Spring Awakening Wood Kiln Opening .. you have already seen some of these pieces!!! Well they are now in our Gallery .. for sale!!! And as you can see from the photo, everything has an amazingly beautful glazed appearance. Check this photo out and then come in and see it in person. You will be so impressed with his work. Anything from coffee cups, bowls, tea bowls, larger vases .. and an amazing tea pot ..

We are thrilled to introduce you to an amazing and very talented young artist, Jared Dixon! These paintings you will see are very unusual, done in colored pencils, which is a well recognized form of art! It requires hours and hours to obtain the images you see here. Jared graduated at the top of his Simpson College Class, earning a Degree in Graphic Arts! While most Graphic Artists lean on the computer for their sources, Jared creates using his mind and vision for fresh and creative works. He has loved games and art, and as a boy spent many hours with his games. As he grew older the video games and art blended, and at 15 he began his journey toward his future!

Our newest Guest of the Month is Brenda K. Boatman of Bloomfield. Presenty they spend several days a week here in their new home .. but come May she will be another of our "Amazing Davis County Artists" as she and her husband, John, will be retiring from the ministry and becoming permanenet residents. Her paintings will be in our Gallery for a while and you need to see and enjoy they "up close and personally".
