All absolutely true statements

Oklahoma people don’t just talk… they speak fluent prairie chaos and let the wind translate the rest. 😭🌾🌪️
“You betcha” = yes
“Ope” = excuse me/sorry/oops
“Well… could be worse” = society is collapsing but we move 😅
You ask “where you headed?”
They say “down to the lake.”
Could be 15 minutes away or halfway across the state… context is everything. 💀
Someone says “going to Braum’s”
Not “the Braum’s.”
Not “a restaurant.”
Just Braum’s.
Because at this point it’s basically state infrastructure. 🍔🥤😭
They call every soft drink “Coke.”
“What kind?” is a completely normal follow-up question.
“Yes I’ll take a Coke.”
“What kind?”
“Dr Pepper.”
Perfectly reasonable Oklahoma conversation. 💀
And if somebody says:
“Storms are rollin’ in…”
Congratulations.
Every adult within 50 miles immediately opens three weather radar apps at once. 🌩️📱😭
If an Oklahoman tells you:
“Fixing to head out”
That could mean:
right now
in 20 minutes
after one more weather update
or sometime next week. ⏳💀
And if someone casually says:
“That wind’s somethin’ today.”
You look outside and discover patio furniture achieving flight. 🌬️😭
Oh, and if an Oklahoman points at the sky?
Everybody else immediately looks too.
Because it could either be:
a beautiful sunset
a tornado
softball-sized hail
or all three at the same time. 🌅🌪️💀
If you know, you know.

We had a great Tour of the Blackwell Water Plant This week. Our City is working diligently to replace the water system. Some of the Water structure is as old as 1924. Roman did a fantastic job explaining to us about the History of the water lines. He also told us their plans to keep our water clean and safe for our community. Thank you for letting us tour.
