Binghamton Township Historical Society

Binghamton Township Historical Society The Binghamton Township Historical Society is a small group of people working to preserve the history of earlier residents and founders of our town.

Come and join in to see what there is about the town and it's people. About Our Museum

Tours available by appointment only. Contact our officers to arrange a tour. Within the museum is an eclectic assortment of artifacts covering all phases of earlier life in our town, including the old telephone system, one-room schoolhouses, farm tools, license plates, antique bottles and crocks, dolls, kitchen

utensils, furniture, and quilts, to name just a few. We also have some oral histories of older (many deceased) members of our township. We are working to make these available at the museum for study by anyone who has an interest. BTHS also opens the museum for special community events such as our annual meeting and covered dish luncheon in September, Memorial Day, and the NYS Path Through History Weekend. About Our Newsletter

Our newsletter is published and mailed to BTHS members four times a year. Annual subscriptions are included in the membership fees: $10 Individual, $15 Family (our fiscal year is from September 1st through August 31st). You can read some of our archived newsletters on this website by visiting our online newsletter page. The board meets four times each month, April through October, and is open to anyone who is interested in attending. The 2015 scheduled meeting times are: the first and third Monday @ 1:00 pm, and second and fourth Tuesday @ 6:00 pm each month. Our business meeting is the first Monday @ 1:00 pm, and all others are workshops. The BTHS Museum is housed in the old Hawleyton Methodist Church, which is itself listed on both the National Registry of Historic Places.
