🌀 A STEAM lesson disguised as a craft.

This spinning gear toy, called a Spirograph, turns math into art. As kids turn the gears, the pen traces spiral patterns built on real geometry and rotational motion. ⚙️

It is more than a pretty design. Turning and guiding the gears builds fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination, 🖐️ while the patterns themselves introduce math concepts like ratios and shapes in a way that feels like play, not a lesson. 📐

🧵 The screen-free craft every caregiver needs to know about.

McKenna, one of our KidsQuest Children's Museum educators, showed us how to make a Wikki Face using Wikki Stix, bendable yarn coated in food-grade wax. No glue. No mess. No cleanup. ✨

Pressing, bending, and shaping builds fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. 🖐️ Mistakes just peel away, so kids build confidence with every try. 💪

This is learning through play: hands-on, screen-free, and full of small STEAM moments. 🎨

Bubblefest week is here! 🫧

Now through August 28, enjoy giant bubble stations, floating foam, and DIY bubble wands. Step inside a mega bubble and get hands-on with sensory play and bubble science all day.

🎡The carnival lights are still twinkling in our memory. Summer Nights Carnival brought games, treats, and so much joy to our community, and we loved every minute of celebrating together.

Here’s a little secret: this is just one night of what happens all year at KidsQuest Children’s Museum, a hands-on children’s museum in Bellevue built for STEAM learning through play. Come see what curiosity looks like the other 364 days too.

💦 Waterfest (July 27–July 31): The ultimate way to beat the mid-summer heat! Dive into a full week of water-themed play and exploration.

🌸 Cloisonné Enamel Art Workshop with Jenny Wang (July 31, 5–7 PM): A beautiful hands-on opportunity to learn the intricate art of cloisonné enamel from a local expert.

🐚 Mother-of-Pearl Inlay Workshop with Jenny Wang (August 14, 5–7 PM): Discover the stunning technique of mother-of-pearl inlay and create a gorgeous keepsake to take home.

🫧 Bubblefest (August 24–August 28): The grand finale to our summer! Join us for a whimsical week of giant bubbles, bubble science, and pure outdoor joy.

500+ future innovators. 6 local libraries. Countless big ideas! 🚀⚙️

From January to June, our Early Engineers program (designed for builders under 5) hit the road to bring hands-on STEAM learning to our community. Together with local librarians, families spent hours designing, testing, and creating!

Our little engineers explored:
🌬️ Wind & Motion: Flying and floating contraptions in our wind tubes.
🏗️ Build This: Blueprint basics and Duplo amusement parks.
⚙️ Simple Machines: Hands-on mechanics with nuts, bolts, and pulleys.
