BAM Featured in Voyage Pennsylvania

We’re excited to share that BAM and our Director, Lori Fisher, were recently featured in Voyage Pennsylvania!

The article shares Lori’s journey from beginning as a museum volunteer in 2010 to becoming Director in 2022, along with a look at the work happening at BAM today.

It’s also a wonderful opportunity to share BAM’s story with a wider audience and celebrate the people, artists, members, volunteers, donors, and visitors who have helped shape the museum over the years.

We’re grateful to Voyage Pennsylvania for taking the time to learn more about Lori and the work we’re doing here at BAM.

What can we learn from the plants around us? 🌿

THE WISDOM OF PLANTS
by Randi Lee Anderson

Drawing on the Victorian “language of flowers,” Randi’s paintings pair botanical beauty with thoughtful messages about living and growing. Each work invites us to pause, look closely, and discover a little wisdom among the leaves and petals.

Visit BAM and see which message speaks to you.

A little paper, a little imagination, and so many possibilities! ✂️📖

Our junk journaling workshop at BAM brought people together to explore, experiment, and turn everyday materials into something personal.

Thank you to artist Linda Mantz for sharing her creativity and guiding the workshop, and to everyone who joined us. We love seeing the creativity that unfolds when we make time to create together!

Filming has begun on our virtual Underground Railroad experience!

This project will bring the stories shared in BAM’s third-floor exhibition, A Journey to Freedom, to a first-floor virtual experience, making this important history accessible to more visitors.

We look forward to sharing a closer look as the project takes shape. Stay tuned!

THE ONES WE MUST PROTECT
by Richard Shore

A closer look can deepen our connection to the natural world. Through his photographs, Richard Shore introduces us to remarkable wildlife and invites us to reflect on the future these animals face.

Visit the exhibition at BAM and consider what we stand to lose—and what we can help preserve—when we make room for wildlife to thrive.

THIS LAND IS YOUR LAND invites us to see the places we know through the eyes of the Farmland Preservation Artists—and reflect on what makes these landscapes worth protecting.

As we commemorate our nation’s 250th anniversary, join us in celebrating the land, its stories, and the care that will carry it into the future.
